Network Engineer - Idaho Falls

Genesis10 is seeking a Network Engineer for a 12- month hybrid contract position with a leading client in Idaho Falls, ID.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting both Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) networks, requiring expertise in both domains to ensure seamless integration and security across industrial control systems and standard IT infrastructure, often involving tasks like network planning, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, security management, and compliance with industry regulations.
• Architecting and deploying both IT and OT network infrastructure, including LANs, WANs, VPNs, firewalls, and industrial protocols like Modbus, Profibus, and Ethernet/IP.
• Selecting and configuring network hardware and software appropriate for both IT and OT environments.
• Implementing network segmentation and security policies to isolate critical OT systems from the general IT network.
• Actively monitoring network performance and health of both IT and OT systems using specialized tools
• Identifying and resolving network issues on the plant floor, including connectivity problems, latency spikes, and security breaches
• Collaborating with OT operators and IT teams to diagnose and troubleshoot complex network problems
• Implementing and maintaining cybersecurity measures specific to OT environments, including vulnerability scanning, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and patch management
• Enforcing security policies to protect critical industrial control systems from cyber threats
• Staying updated on emerging cyber threats and industry best practices for OT security
• Ensuring network infrastructure adheres to relevant industry regulations and compliance standards (e.g., NERC CIP, IEC 62443)
• Generating reports on network performance, security incidents, and compliance status

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, MPLS, VPN)
• Familiarity with industrial automation protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP)
• Expertise in network security concepts (firewalls, intrusion detection, access control)
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools
• Knowledge of industrial control systems (SCADA, DCS)
• Ability to work effectively with both IT and operational teams
• Programming skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell) can be beneficial for automation and scripting
