Position Summary

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about operational testing and the research, systems engineering, design, and integration of capabilities required to create a multi-domain operations environment for the testing of signature modernization efforts. This position provides research, and supports the development of UAF/DODAF views tailored to the systems engineering and integration (SE&I) efforts for the future development of capabilities for the MDO environment needed for the operational testing of Future Vertical Lift, Maneuver (XM30 and Robotic Combat Vehicle), and Intelligence Electromagnetic Warfare & Cyber (TITAN/TLS) Systems Under Test (SUT).

The selected candidate will work at our office in Killeen, TX, four days a week in the office and 1 day of remote work is required. This role is responsible for developing viewpoints (Operational, Service, etc.) and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) models that demonstrate what additional capabilities are needed for the MDO environment that supports the operational testing of future vertical lift, XM-30/RCV, & TITAN/TLS systems under test. Additionally, outputs from the SE&I effort support the development of test functions and objectives as a part of future course of action development that go to the government. This position will report to the Innovation Cell Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity to pioneer the product development of the MDO Environment and associated Data planning, preparation, monitoring, and assessment tools for Operational Test environments. This role will require creativity and innovation to combine the discipline of Systems Engineering with larger program and corporate objectives.

What You'll Do

Duties: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Conduct trade studies to include cost-benefit analyses to develop cost-efficient systems for specific projects.
  • Identify stakeholder, customer and user needs and assess the root cause of the needs. Based on that information, design UAF/DODAF views for a new system or improve existing systems to make them better and more efficient.
  • Derive and manage requirements that guide the development of courses of action for the government to make decisions on solutions that close gaps in the Multi-Domain Operations environment needed for Operational Testing.
  • Perform Systems Engineering activities such as requirements development and traceability, system model development, design documentation, and verification and validation analysis over the lifecycle of the MDO environment gap closure development effort.
  • Support the Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes within standard toolsets in a manner that enables efficient and effective response to changing mission needs and rapidly evolving system requirements to model operational testing processes for test and evaluation with the AOTI Systems Engineering team.
  • Coordinate with program management personnel to prioritize programmatic and technical objectives.
  • Maintain requirements baseline within MBSE tools to ensure consistency across all areas of engineering concern (e.g., mission and user requirements, system functions and attributes, and architectural and design components).
  • Assist in managing software interface requirements and definitions.
  • Less than 25% travel may be required.


Requirements and Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school in a technical discipline (engineering, science, computer science/engineering).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Background in developmental or operational testing
  • Must be a graduate of a military service school equivalent to the Army Command and General Staff College (Military Education Level - 4 qualification is required)
  • Experience with Multi-Domain Operations and how to replicate the MDO environment
  • Exposure to a software development environment utilizing Agile methodology
  • Exposure to software system architecture definition, system, and subsystem level requirements definition, and from existing operational concepts and use cases
  • Experience working with MBSE tools to manage system architecture, design, and requirements development; CAMEO and Enterprise Architect preferred
  • U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret Clearance is required
  • Familiarity with DoD systems


Desired Qualifications:



  • Experience with software development, software architecture, or software-based systems engineering environments
  • Exposure to Live, Virtual, and Constructive test or training environment
