About the Role

Canon USA in Melville, NY is currently seeking an Logistics Associate Specialist (Assoc Specialist, Logistics). The Supply Chain Services Department (SCS) is an integral part to the Canon USA Logistics Sub Group. The SCS team takes the lead in planning initiatives that strengthen our distribution network, while maintaining customer satisfaction, and creating efficiencies within the entire supply chain process, end - to -end.

This position is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Monday, Wednesday and Friday and an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in office attendance on other days). Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.


Your Impact

- Organizes and handles a variety of logistics issues
- Evaluates customer support and field service commitments to ensure customer requirements are met
- Assists in developing logistics plans and procedures
- Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors
- Analyze and report on vendor compliance chargeback deductions from Major Retailers
- Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
- Responsible for Carrier Management Reporting to ensure cost effective and efficient use of carriers used to transport Canon products across the United States
- Analyzes various costs and methods of shipment and make recommendations for carrier selection
- Provides analytical and administrative support to management regarding inventory levels
- Analyzes spacing concerns, replenishment rates, and product turnover rates. Makes recommendations to management
- Prepares Daily Sales Reports used by management and warehouses to compare sales with actual inventory in warehouses
- Coordinates data selection and preliminary analysis for the Division's Logistics projects
- Maintains, safeguards, and organizes departmental files, documents and communications
- Ensures compliance with contractual obligations
- Provides support to National distribution warehouses in regards to distribution issues
- Possesses specialized knowledge or skills in a particular functional area
- An entry-level professional learning the functions of the job role
- Receives general instruction from manager on expected work outcomes
- Uses professional education to identify, analyze and resolve issues and interpret company policy
- Typically reports to a Manager, but may report to a senior professional individual contributor when business needs dictate


About You: The Skills & Expertise You Bring

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required, plus 0 to 2 years of related experience
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Logistics Planning, Operations Management or Business Administration
- The incumbent should also have one to three years experience in a Distribution or Inventory Control capacity and should possess knowledge of Logistics modeling techniques such as EOQ/EOP
- Advanced MS Excel experience is required
- Exposure to warehouse management would be beneficial
- The individual should also possess strong organizational, written, analytical, administrative and interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer platform skills are required
- Presentation skills is required

The company will not pursue or support visa sponsorship for this position.

We are providing the anticipated salary range for this role: $62,400 - $73,650 annually
