Job DescriptionPosition Overview: Promotes, support, and follow Amcor Rigid Plastics OSHE, Quality Systems, cGMP and Product Safety Programs. Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Check factory/product drawings and internal specifications prior to new startups. Performs AQL's when required. Organize and file job packets at the end of every job. Responsible for incoming raw material inspection. Assist quality assurance technicians as assigned. Prepares PDS/tailgates certificates and samples for shipment. Performs other duties as assigned by Quality Supervisor. Assist in maintaining 'Good Manufacturing Practices' (GMP) within the plant. Check certificates (batch and non-batch). Maintain samples (bottles, colorant resin, etc.) in the retain rooms. Assist with gage calibrations. Generate and print-out custom reports. Provide assistance to corporate Q.A. department when needed. Checks for data for accuracy. Ship gages, samples, bottles, reports, etc. to customers & corporate associates. Record holdware & quality alerts into a database - for Pareto's, weekly and monthly reports. Make new defect standards & record in Quality Assurance log. Request standard bottles and chips from corporate and suppliers. Check supplies/inventories for the Quality Assurance department. Check bottles for flaming-prior to shipping, if more than 90 days old. Special projects assigned by Plant Manager or Quality Supervisor. Safety is a condition of employment and all associates are expected to perform all job tasks in a safe and appropriate manner at all times. Don't assume, know all your safety precautions before performing a task. Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or GED Preferred Education: Associate's degree in a quality related field preferred American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification preferred Experience: 2 - 4 years' experience in a quality environment. Good communication and decision making skills; familiarity with statistical quality control and process control concepts; knowledge of various sampling plans. Preferred Experience: Previous experience in a plastics manufacturing environment Previous work experience in visual and dimensional inspection Knowledge and Skills: Computer proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word Able to read and interpret work instructions, procedures, and drawings Proficient with hand measurement tools and non-contact measurement systems Recognize and define problems, collect data, and develop conclusions Basic mathematical and statistical skills Preferred Knowledge: Lotus Notes, Real SPC, and SAP OurExpectationsWe expect our people to be guided by The Amcor Way and demonstrate our Values every day to enable the business to win.
