What you will accomplish as an Inventory Control Lead at TAPCO

The Inventory Leader is responsible for accurate inventory in all TAPCO Facilities. Supervise inventory control team for large volume production/distribution facility, using best practices to meet internal customer demands. This position plays a critical role in delivering Inventory accuracy. This role communicates directly with leaders in Purchasing, Sales, Finance, Engineering, and Operations Departments and is expected to engage in healthy dialog that results in the relentless pursuit of improvement. Leaders at TAPCO are expected to be creative in their approach to their work and have the courage to learn from mistakes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and implement procedures for inventory management, tracking, and control

  • Manage, maintain, and report cycle counts for all companies, all inventory.
  • Oversee daily performance of staff
  • Ensure Timely responses to inventory requests.
  • Communicate with department leadership on inventory related feedback or corrective actions.
  • Investigate customer order issues by working with the customer service team
  • Ensure inventory reconciliation occurs daily / real time through physical and systematic research and problem-solving
  • Lead team to perform necessary cycle counting and inventory tasks
  • Participate in creating plans for facilities layout in regards for inventory storage and movements, bin layout and parameters.
  • Coordinate with planning teams to scrap obsolete parts.
  • Develop reports as a tool to communicate inventory control performance, such as cycle count compliance, cycle count accuracy etc.
  • Coordinate with scheduling and procurement teams providing input and feedback related to inventory levels and practices

Required Experience and Knowledge/ Skills/Ability

  • 3-5 years inventory management experience
  • 5 years of experience with WMS & RF equipment
  • Knowledge of 5S/LEAN manufacturing principles
  • Up to 2-3 years of experience mentoring and supervising others
  • Math skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Knowledge of computers systems, such as WMS, Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point etc.)
