DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will act as the District Equipment Specialist, supporting the District Equipment Manager in delivering specialized technical assistance for the Department's Equipment Preventative Maintenance Program, along with its associated policies and procedures. Your responsibilities will include offering guidance and technical support to Mechanic Supervisors, Mechanics, Operator Instructors, and Equipment Operators, ensuring adherence to established policies, procedures, programs, and standards. You will also engage in both formal and informal Preventative Maintenance Quality Assurance inspections, contributing to the identification of trends and anomalies while preparing relevant documentation and reports. Additionally, you will provide advice to District and County personnel regarding the implementation of proper equipment maintenance and repair practices in accordance with PUB177, the Equipment Maintenance and Management Policies Manual.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of journey level experience in the maintenance and repair of gasoline and diesel powered heavy construction and maintenance equipment;or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid Class A or B Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License with the Air Brake (L) restriction removed.
- This position requires possession of a valid Class 4 or 7 Pennsylvania Inspection Mechanic Certification.
- This position requires one year or experience or training in the repair or maintenance of diesel engines.
