DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Division of Installation Maintenance is responsible for the roads, grounds, facilities, and utilities at FIG, which spans over 17,000 acres. In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining paved roads, parking lots, trails, and ranges, which includes tasks such as snow removal, paving, and pipe replacement. You will operate a variety of vehicles, including some weighing over 32,001 pounds, as well as construction equipment, snow removal machines, and mowing equipment. Additionally, you will perform various labor tasks using hand and power tools, ensuring proper tool selection and usage to minimize wear and prevent damage. You will also handle minor repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment. Safety is a top priority in this role, and you will ensure the safe operation of all equipment while maintaining a secure work environment for yourself, your coworkers, and the public by adhering to safety procedures and wearing the appropriate safety gear. - Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience or training.

Additional Requirements:
- A conditional offer is contingent on passing a favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
- You must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) permit at the time of hire. (Once you are hired, the agency will send you to classes for a Class A CDL that you must obtain within 6 months after hire.)
- You must obtain a Tanker Endorsement (N) within one year of employment.
- You must obtain a Bio-Solid Application Certification within one year of employment.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Possession of a Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with no restrictions
- Experience operating a refuse/recycling truck
- Experience operating a wheeled/tract front-end loader
- Experience operating heavy trucks/tractor trailers
- Experience with snow removal
- Experience cutting grass using a large tractor with a gang-mower attachment
