DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Records Specialist you will be assigned to the Records Office and maintain accurate, up-to-date DC-15 master files by: analyzing court documents to create and/or revise sentence structures and sentence calculations; reviewing time periods identified as commitment credit to determine if the credit is legal and should be applied; revising sentence calculations when changes are made by the court or PA Probation and Parole Board; updating and reviewing inmate criminal histories; conducting one-on-one interviews with inmates for various reasons and communicating with various criminal justice agencies regarding inmates. The Corrections Records Specialist scrutinizes inmate cases assigned to his/her caseload prior to release to ensure that the release is legal, timely and that the inmate has met all requirements for release. An additional duty includes registering and fingerprinting sex offenders under Megan's Law and fingerprint parole violators. The ideal Corrections Records Specialist will possess: advanced typing skills, above average attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to multi-task under pressure and meet deadlines. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Records Specialist 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of clerical or correctional custodial experience including one year in a correctional facility; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes one year of clerical or correctional custodial experience in a correctional facility.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
