DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will have the opportunity to oversee and participate in various skilled renovations, installations, and maintenance work related to plumbing and water utility infrastructure at Fort Indiantown Gap. Your responsibilities will also include managing the wastewater treatment plant and supervising the plumbers and wastewater treatment staff. You will be responsible for planning, assigning, and scheduling repairs to ensure buildings are in proper working order. In addition, you will conduct inspections to identify any deficiencies and implement necessary preventive maintenance measures for the plumbing system. You will also be involved in laying out work and supervising the repair and construction of both interior and exterior plumbing tasks, ranging from minor repairs to full-scale construction. Another important aspect of this role is overseeing the installation, alteration, and repair of underground water distribution systems, including delivering potable water from the main pipes to the designated areas.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirement:
- Three years of skilled trades work experience in commercial, industrial, or multi-unit residential facilities which includes one year of supervisory experience overseeing skilled trades work in commercial or industrial buildings, or utility plant operations.
Additional Requirements:
- You must have experience in locating, troubleshooting, excavating, repairing, and sanitizing water mains due to main breaks.
- This position requires possession of a PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) water systems certification (minimum Class E / Subclass 1) within 1 year of employment.
