Center for Distributed Learning:

The Center for Distributed Learning (CDL) serves as the central agent for online learning at UCF, providing leadership in distance learning policies, strategies, and practices. CDL supports and expands student access to education through the advanced application of instructional technology, data analysis, policy, and strategic planning for distributed learning programs and courses. We collaborate with internal and external partners to investigate, design, deliver, assess, and support online learning through faculty development, course production, and research, which are all aligned with institutional goals.

The Opportunity:

UCF's Center for Distributed Learning seeks applications for an Online Faculty Development Coordinator. The Online Faculty Development Coordinator supports the Director of Learning Content Production by facilitating communication and collaboration between instructional design teams and the University community. This role ensures that the needs and requirements of academic departments and business units are effectively communicated to the Center for Distributed Learning (CDL) and that the services provided align with institutional goals. The Coordinator will also help manage key credentialing initiatives and will consult on teaching modalities in coordination with the registrar's office to ensure appropriate class section comments and designations.

Classification title: Academic Program Coordinator III

This is an Auxiliary funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.

Responsibilities:


  • Assist the Director of Learning Content Production in managing and coordinating learning content projects, ensuring that production timelines and quality standards are met. Provide administrative and logistical support to the Director in various aspects of learning content development and deployment.

  • Assist with the coordination of enrollment for various programs including IDL 6543, ADL 5000 and the various video support programs.

  • Act as a point of contact for academic departments to address any inquiries related to enrollment in professional development programs and ensure seamless participation.

  • Serve as the liaison between academic departments and instructional design teams for the Online Faculty Readiness Assessment, which evaluates faculty portfolios for online teaching readiness. Ensure that academic departments are informed about the assessment process and assist in resolving any issues or concerns.

  • Work closely with academic departments to align their teaching strategies with institutional goals, particularly in online and hybrid modalities.

  • Provide advance reporting to academic units in advance of semester start regarding faculty preparedness for online modalities. Provide program analytical data and recommendations to organizational leadership.

  • Assist in optimizing the scheduling process by providing insights and recommendations on teaching modalities and their implications for course delivery. Attend campus-wide schedule building meetings.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:


  • 4+ years' experience in project or program coordination.

  • Experience working in higher education.

  • Experience working with teams that develop and deliver educational content, particularly in an online setting.

  • Understanding of online and hybrid teaching modalities and how they align with institutional goals.

  • Experience coordinating enrollments and handling inquiries, particularly in an academic or professional development setting.

  • Experience or aptitude for training faculty, staff, or other stakeholders in new technologies or systems.

  • Experience coaching and mentoring junior professionals.

  • Strong organizational skills, with experience in coordinating multiple initiatives simultaneously, including managing timelines, resources, and deliverables.

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to provide outstanding service and build relationships across campus.
