Role: Producer, Social Creative Role Overview: Pitchfork is looking for an energetic and experienced Producer to join our team. This role will be at the forefront of capturing, editing, and publishing social video content that aligns with Pitchfork's unique voice and music-focused brand. The ideal candidate is passionate about music, has a strong background in social media video production, and can manage all aspects of social video creation in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, we are looking for someone excited to be on camera and comfortable with being the face of Pitchfork's social video content. Key Responsibilities:
Social Video Production: Oversee the production of all social video content for Pitchfork, from concept creation through to editing and publishing, ensuring high-quality output for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. Capturing Content: Be hands-on with filming, capturing on-location content, behind-the-scenes footage, and other dynamic video assets, ensuring a variety of content that resonates with Pitchfork's audience. Be comfortable being on camera as needed to engage with talent and present content in an authentic, engaging way. Video Editing: Edit short-form videos with a clear narrative and engaging visual language. Maintain Pitchfork's distinctive style across all video content, incorporating music, culture, and visual storytelling. Social Media Strategy: Collaborate with the editorial team to ensure videos align with Pitchfork's editorial voice and social media strategy. Maintain awareness of trends and adapt content to maximize engagement. Content Scheduling and Publishing: Manage the publishing of social videos across Pitchfork's social media platforms, ensuring optimal posting schedules for maximum reach and engagement. Creative Development: Contribute to creative brainstorming sessions, helping to develop fresh and exciting video ideas that showcase Pitchfork's unique take on music, artists, and culture. Collaboration: Work closely with the editorial, design, and marketing teams to ensure social videos align with larger editorial themes and campaigns, seamlessly integrating Pitchfork's voice and aesthetic. Analytics: Monitor and analyze the performance of social video content across platforms. Use data-driven insights to inform future video strategies and improve engagement. Trend Awareness: Stay on top of emerging trends in social media and video production. Integrate popular music and visual trends into the content strategy, while maintaining Pitchfork's creative integrity. Quick Turnaround: Respond rapidly to changing schedules and priorities, ensuring that videos are produced quickly and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality. Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in social video production, particularly for music or entertainment-focused brands. Strong passion for music, with a deep understanding of current music trends, genres, and the Pitchfork audience. Proven ability to capture and edit video content across multiple social media platforms, with a portfolio that demonstrates creativity and technical expertise. Proficiency in video editing software such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar tools. Ability to manage all aspects of social video production, from pre-production planning to final delivery. Experience in analyzing social video performance and using metrics to inform content decisions. A keen eye for detail and ability to create visually compelling content. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Adaptable and proactive, able to pivot quickly and stay ahead of trends and social media shifts.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience filming with iPhone, DSLR and/or mirrorless cameras, as well as basic lighting and sound equipment. Experience in live event video production or working with artists on social content. Familiarity with video optimization for various social media platforms.
This is a guild position. The expected base salary range for this position is from $86,500-$100,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates may also be eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation.
