Overview
Provides leadership, vision, and direction to all aspects of the Treasury operations with a focus on ensuring timeliness, accuracy, regulatory compliance, and developing and implementing strategies to optimize financial operations. Manage (i) the development and management of systems for the effective, efficient, and timely consolidation, reconciliation, and forecasting of cash, (ii) payments of obligations, (iii) capital and liquidity planning, and (vi) negotiation and maintenance of corporate banking and other vendor relationships. Strategically drives continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility, establishes best practices, and partners with other parts of the business to ensure operational excellence. Ability to expand responsibilities over time. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Leverage technology and business process optimization to drive improved effectiveness and efficiency, including establishing KPIs, best practices, and enhanced analytics that drive better outcomes, in all areas of Treasury operations. Responsibility for compliance with debt covenants, documentation, monitoring and testing of internal controls for the Treasury area in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 requirements. Manage a team of Treasury professionals and maintain and enhance an engaging team culture with a focus on talent development to achieve strong operating performance. Maintain relationships with commercial bankers and other vendors and negotiate relevant agreements to ensure consistent value delivery. Manage annual Treasury budget and forecast. Monitor and assess capital structure and liquidity at subsidiary and holding company, evaluating cost of capital, risk criteria, rating agency constraints, etc. Responsible for liquidity risk assessment, including intercompany dividends, evaluation of contingent facilities, credit agreements, etc. Perform strategic and financial analysis, including researching and recommending solutions for capital and liquidity planning, capital markets transactions, capital structure optimization and capital deployment.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Requirements
- Strong knowledge and understanding of financial and banking operations, corporate finance, and accounting.
- Work experience in finance, accounting, corporate banking, or consulting with financial services sector focus preferred.
- MS office suite expertise.
- Must have a proven ability to drive change and enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.
- Strong leadership and project management skills with an ability to granularly understand existing processes, strategically prioritize areas of focus, and effectively communicate a vision for expected outcomes.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
- MBA preferred
- CFA or CTP preferred
- 10+ years of experience in corporate finance, accounting or treasury.
- Leadership experience.
- Financial Services or Insurance industry experience preferred

The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint. Additional considerations include relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance, and business needs.
Pay Range
USD $164,000.00 - USD $225,000.00 /Yr.
