As part of our Individual & Family Plan (IFP) business, we are expanding our product portfolio to serve a diverse set of members and meet the needs our state and federal partners. This new opportunity and role will be a key part of our Product Management & Regulatory Alignment team and as a Senior Product Manager for markets nationwide. Focus: This position will be responsible for managing Individual insurance products for markets in the United States. The Senior Product Teams serve as the 'nucleus' for the IFP business for locally-aligned markets, including establishing and managing relationships with our cross-functional partners and identifying opportunities to inform strategy development. This role will be responsible for local market strategy, product portfolio development, and regulatory filing of all plans and products within their purview. This role is highly collaborative; ideal candidates will be responsible for driving market and plan design strategy, thinking creatively to reach solutions, and providing Product requirements to downstream internal partners. Senior Product Managers need the ability to manage themselves through ambiguity, adapt quickly to changes in work direction and pivot work accordingly.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Serve as primary subject matter expert for respective markets, leading efficient and effective discussions to make decisions in partnership with cross-functional teams
  • Owner of materials and presentation of state market research, strategic insights, and product portfolio to leadership and key partners
  • Drive end-to-end plan design development process - strategize with partners, conduct market research, build portfolios based on national and local strategies while abiding by all Regulatory and Actuarial guidelines
  • Executing annual local market strategy development, product deployment and flawless regulatory filing of all plans and products within assigned markets
  • Responsible for development and management of QHP and state-level documentation required throughout filing and objections processes with 100% accuracy for aligned markets
  • Lead response and coordination with Regulatory partners to Product Objections for aligned markets
  • Establish and manage relationships for effective collaboration, proactively share knowledge of local markets with Actuary, Network, Sales, Regulatory/Legal, Operations, Marketing, Consumer Experience, and Pharmacy to drive understanding about Product Strategy and market dynamics. Leverage these relationships to gather feedback as inputs to strategy and product portfolio development

Required Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of relevant healthcare experience in product or program management role
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in product strategy, product development and/or implementation
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated capability to navigate matrix stakeholders to drive collective success



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Individual Market, Medicaid, or Commercial insurance experience, including direct experience managing state and federal product filings
  • Proven analytical skills and ability to review data and make fact-based decisions and/or recommendations
  • Proven adapt quickly to changes in work direction and able to pivot work accordingly
  • Proven team player with strong ability to form working professional relationships
  • Proven solid communication skills (persuasive written, oral, and presentation skills)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with the urgency to drive work forward

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
