Assists with a variety of health care tasks, from taking dental x-rays and caring for patients, to helping file records and appointment scheduling.

Essential Functions
-Assists dental hygienists with procedures when necessary.
-Records treatment information in patient records.
-Exposes dental x-rays from dental diagnostics and caring for dental x-ray equipment.
-Gives patients information on dental hygiene, oral health care, and plaque control programs.
-Collects and records medical and dental histories and patient vital signs.
-Provides postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist.
-Orders dental supplies and maintains dental equipment inventory.
-Fabricates temporary restorations and custom impressions from preliminary impressions.

Education
Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma Dental Assistant required

Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?

Licenses and Credentials
Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers required Dental Assistant [State License] - Generic - required

Experience
directly related experience 1+ year preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Completion of Dental Hygiene Program.
- Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Consistently professional appearance and attitude.
- Able to provide great patient care.
