Position Overview

The Finance Analyst is a key member of the US FP&A function, which is responsible for managing the US Conde Nast P&L as well as running the budgeting and forecasting process to help deliver the company's financial targets. The team is based in the US and we work closely with all functions, Corp FP&A as well as Bangalore Centers of Excellence and Controlling Ops teams. Our work is absolutely critical to the business as we help to 'join the dots' and provide the finance leadership team with the insight and information needed to manage company performance.

Key responsibilities of this roleinclude:

  • Support Senior Director to provide ongoing business partnering support to the all function finance leads (including commercial, consumer, edit, etc), developing a deep understanding of the key drivers and business challenges, and forge close working relationships with the US Market functional finance leads.

  • Review and analyze monthly closes for the US Market (reviewing the centre of excellence outputs to ensure accuracy).

  • Focus on interpreting and analyzing the standard reporting package from the Centers of Excellence in Bangalore to support the Senior Director including Gross Margin reporting, functional operating Opex and special project reporting.

  • Oversee the production of the monthly reporting for the US Market (reviewing the centre of excellence outputs to ensure accuracy)

  • Help to prepare the US monthly financial results to the VP of Corporate FP&A. Provide insightful, forward-looking commentary on performance and proactively identify areas to investigate further.

  • Support Senior Director to answer time-sensitive questions from the Finance Leadership team as well as US Market function leads.

  • Support the US Market forecasting & budget process end to end; working closely with a variety of internal senior finance stakeholders across the business

  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested by Senior Director to support the US leadership team and Corporate FP&A team. Participate in projects to improve US Market performance and profitability.

  • Manage the US Market risks and opportunities schedule to give an early indication of the US Market performance to senior finance leadership.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • At least +2 years post-qualified or QBE (qualified by experience)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, willing and able to challenge key stakeholders

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, comfortable with handling a lot of complex data sets and delivering quality outputs with minimal review required.

  • Commercial mindset, goes deeper to understand the numbers and can 'tell the story' about business performance effectively

  • Great team player, able to pitch in where required, flexible and adaptable

  • Works well under pressure, prioritises effectively and takes ownership of deliverables

  • Proficient user of G-suite and Microsoft Excel

  • Comfortable with change, can use judgement and a problem solver

The expected base salary range for this position is from $70k- $85k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
