POSITION SUMMARY:

EC Registration Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, directing, controlling and assisting all staffing functions of the EC Registration. Responsible for effective operations, work schedules, on-going training, and maintenance of the Departmental and Hospital Policies and Procedures. Responsible for auditing staff registrations to include but not limited to Insurance Verification, Coordination of Benefits, Eligibility, Point of Service Collections, Patient Portal and the Health Information Exchange. Requires integral communication with patients, insurance companies, department administrators, physicians, and other departmental staff to ensure the ideal patient experience.

Full Time: 40 Hours Per Week

Location: St. Petersburg, FL

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:




  1. Actively participates and coordinates the smooth operation and daily function of the EC Registration area in order to maintain adequate staffing
  2. Assists with developing and enforcing departmental policies, practices, procedures and work rules to ensure a consistent work environment
  3. Performs weekly audits on registrations to accurately evaluate staff for performance evaluations as well as to reduce denials for maximum reimbursement
  4. Provide assistance and/or collect time of service payments and any prior balances related to patient responsibility
  5. Engages staff in special projects to enhance morale and overall employee engagement within the department
  6. Documents and performs annual job performance evaluation for staff adhering to hospital policy
  7. Establishes and maintains effective communication with staff, clinical personnel, all revenue cycle functions and other departments to ensure the ideal patient experience



QUALIFICATIONS:




  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 years clinical/nonclinical Emergency Room experience or a medical facility setting (or acute care setting)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of third-party payer requirements, computer literacy, and excellent customer service skills; knowledge of signature requirements
  • Experience with Medicaid and Medicaid HMOs and working knowledge of CMS and other governmental programs
  • Bilingual required



Salary Range: Minimum 18.74 per hour - Maximum 29.99 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
