Title: Improvement Engineer

Salary: $104,000 to $152,000 depending upon experience

Focus: The Improvement Engineer is responsible for optimizing complex processes and systems throughout small arms ammunition manufacturing operations and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Improvement Engineer Essential Job Functions:
- Analyze and develop process improvements and technological upgrades to enhance productivity and reduce scrap via production schedules, processes, and specifications to identify areas of improvement.
- Design production layouts and workflows that maximize efficiency while maintaining quality standards; Prepare detailed material and equipment lists, cost analyses, and production cost estimations.
- Develop and maintain routings to establish the most efficient sequence of operations for manufacturing processes and to ensure accurate cost of manufacturing standards.
- Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and engineering to identify opportunities for operational improvements.
- Partner with finance and conduct critical analysis to quantify and track financial impact of continuous improvement initiatives.
Improvement Engineer Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree* in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment managing routings and leading initiatives in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to drive operational excellence.
- Experience in SAP or similar ERP system.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Project management experience a plus.
- Knowledge of Winchester processes and procedures preferred.
Location-Specific Requirements:
- This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
- This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
