Under direct supervision/guidance, the engineering intern candidate will support the engineering team and gain practical experience by analyzing, optimizing, and improving manufacturing processes within the Akron site.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Support engineers by developing 3D models and drawings of tooling, machine guarding and fixtures.
  • Identify and implement process improvements through data analysis, observations, and conversation with operators on the plant floor.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process changes.
  • Help maintain a safe working environment by identifying potential hazards within the plant.
  • Present recommendations, key findings and lessons learned to project team members.

Qualifications:



  • Currently pursuing/enrolled in accredited college/university pursuing degree (Bachelors or Masters) within mechanical or chemical engineering or related field.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office package
  • Experience with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks or similar)


Eligible to work 40 hours a week during your CO-OP semesters
