Where you'll be:

This position will be based in the HQ Charlotte, NC.

All about the role:

As a Demand Planner, you will assist in all demand planning duties including estimating future product demand, analyzing inventory flow, and developing forecast models. You will use cross-functional interactions, historical data analysis, customer data, market trends and statistical projections to develop the most accurate and up-to-date demand plan. The demand plan will be used to develop supporting inventory plans that will provide the service levels our customers require while maximizing inventory turns in support of the organizational objectives.

In addition to the objectives above, the Demand Planner will provide guidance to the other members of the demand planning team, implement best practices and drive process improvement.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and manage a forward looking (24 Months) aggregated demand plan at a SKU location level for specific Sales channel(s).

  • Use and maintain current demand-planning systems to create the best statistical forecast possible using established processes.

  • Perform monthly root cause analysis to identify sources of controllable forecast error and mitigate in future forecasts.

  • Evaluate buying patterns of key customers and predict how the company should react to product phase in, phase out, warranty, availability, demand shifts, promotions, events, and competitive products.

  • Interact with sales, marketing, and operations to understand and interpret the potential impact that market trends and demand drivers can have on demand and adjust the statistical forecast to reflect those impacts

  • Assess the impact of promotions and events on demand, using what-if analysis to create scenarios, recommendations and communicate risk & opportunities to the internal organization as needed.

  • Facilitate the cross-functional connectivity required within the monthly Sales and Operation Planning (S&OP) process meetings to gain alignment to the consensus forecast, documenting and publishing forecast rationale and identification of risks and opportunities.

  • Assist in development of key output and KPI requirements that support the demand consensus planning process.

  • Review and publish monthly channel forecast and organizational demand plan metrics.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent years of experience is required with preferred emphasis on Supply Chain Management, Business or related field.

  • 5+ Years of experience with demand planning & supply/inventory planning.

  • Knowledge of forecasting processes in sales, marketing operations, finance and manufacturing.

  • Experience working on projects using a variety of process redesign methods (such as business process re-engineering, value chain analysis, lean Six Sigma or total quality management) is a plus.
