Overview

CAES by Honeywell is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for manufacturing related activities on programs and prototype hardware for avionics and space applications for our "out of this world" products. The type of hardware produced at the CAES San Diego location is often complex, containing circuit card assemblies (CCAs), cable harnesses, multi-chip modules, and higher level system assemblies. This job will have a high emphasis on microelectronics.


Responsibilities

* Interfacing with design engineers to ensure hardware is producible.

* Assisting with high visibility manufacturing efforts, including formal cost/schedule responsibilities and manufacturing readiness reviews, which may include direct customer interface.

* Generating assembly documentation and directing support personnel in the day-to-day execution of the manufacturing tasks.

* Supporting process improvement initiatives of technical and operational nature.

* Designing and developing manufacturing and engineering tools, strategies, and systems.

* Perform and coordinate production engineering support fuction such as fixtures, materials, design, process problem evaluation and solution.


Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or Engineering related discipline.
  • Two (2) + years of hands on experience with micro-electronics assembly processes.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred:

  • Five (5) + years of hands on experience with micro-electronics assembly processes.
  • Multi-chip modules experience (e.g. epoxy dispensing, die attach, wire/ribbon bonding etc.)
  • Military standards MIL-883 or MIL-PRF-38534.
  • Experience in implementing lean/six sigma techniques (FMEA, DFMA, DTC, DOE and root cause/corrective action analysis).
  • Master Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline.
  • Communication skills: ability to receive messages by telephone, in person, electronically and in writing; ask questions and rephrase statements to clarify meaning; ability to read, interpret and comprehend complex written technical publications; communicate across organizational levels; ability to communicate with quality, integrity and respect in a way that inspires others and encourages innovation and possibilities;
  • Computer skills: working in a networked environment using a Windows and/or Windows like interface using Power Point, Excel and Word software programs at an intermediate to advance level; ability to work with Enterprise-wide systems such as SAP and AGILE, a plus.
  • Math & Analytical skills: intermediate mathematical skills, including statistical analysis; review and compare data to identify inconsistencies and determine priorities; ability to collect, analyze and summarize information to a general understanding; ability to think abstractly and separate complex ideas into simple elements. Green belt certification is a plus.
  • Time Management and Organizational skills: flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments; ability to maintain confidentiality; work with the vast array of information gathered during elicitation and analysis and to cope with rapidly changing information;
  • Excellence Behaviors: remain engaged, proactive and positive even in tough circumstances; own assignments and be fully accountable for their success; align actions, behaviors and conversations to what matters most; bring out the best in others and recognize the value in every person's contributions; ability to work independently and as a team member

Salary Range: $81,764.85 - $ 135,168 annually (San Diego).

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base bay. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
