In this role, you will lead Program-Level Planning focused on long-term, strategic, annual / multi-annual planning and bridges with its customers for the Projects organization.

What you will do:

  • Proactively engage customers early in cycle to establish multiyear plan to sequence work ensuring most efficient and effective use of resources. This includes activities associated with development, scheduling and estimating of work for the entire dept and continual evaluation and optimizing across the portfolio.

  • Responsible for the creation and implementation of planning process for all Direct To Execution work types across the repeatable portfolio, which includes:

  • Developing multiyear plans for execution based on Sponsor Long Range Plans.

  • Liaison between multiple Sponsors and project execution groups. Chairing regular cross-functional conversations with Sponsors and other stakeholders to evaluate multiyear plans and discuss critical metrics as well as opportunities for value capture.

  • Performing pre-execution activities such as front-end engineering and site visits to develop shovel-ready projects.

  • Developing estimates for the long-range plans using benchmarks and provide key insights to Analytics group for continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Providing guidance to execution Project Managers as well as the Sponsors on bundling and work sequencing opportunities.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. In Canadian locations, a Professional Engineering designation with APEGA is required.

  • 6 years of progressively detailed design and/or project management experience.

  • General understanding of pipeline and terminal operations.

  • Predict obstacles, challenges, and risks to proactively resolve mitigation strategies and innovative solutions to problems.

  • Effective interpersonal skills that include communication.

  • Problem solving, decision-making, organization, planning, and leadership skills.

  • Role requires a valid driver's license, which will be verified with a motor vehicle check prior to hire.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment.

  • Up to 5% travel.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

US ONLY:

Salary: Ranges from $94,300/year - $140,000/year USD

  • Pay credits are between 4% and 11% of eligible earnings, based on age and service
