The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Product Development Center (PDC) located in Wauwatosa, WI is home to the mantra - You dream it. We build it. Join our team as a Sr Engineer Packaging.


Job Summary

This position will assist in packaging-related projects that focus on strategically directing the packaging design and development process. The position will help develop, maintain, and communicate processes that track and manage budget in the delivery of packaging for new product launches, relative to Quality, Cost, and Timing objectives. The position will work with project managers and purchasing engineers relative to all aspects of package development.

Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates in depth conceptual and practical knowledge in packaging.
  • Impacts the design and implements within packaging processes the system solution and have a strategic impact on supply chain processes and systems.
  • Solves complex problems related to part quality issues related to packaging and enacts a new perspective on existing solutions. Works independently and receives minimal guidance.
  • Acts as a resource for Packaging Engineers with less experience. Responsible for ongoing activities, objectives and may lead projects or steps within a broader project.
  • Communicates difficult or sensitive information and builds relationships with internal stakeholders and packaging suppliers.

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Ability to apply knowledge of best practices in Packaging and how their own area integrates with others to drive results.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within and/or lead a group or team providing guidance to members within manufacturing, distribution, or product development.
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholder groups as well as internal and external resources.
  • Expertise in completing expense and/or capital budge responsibilities for a project.
  • Travel required up to 10%.

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
