Job Scope

The Senior Director, Global LTG Marketing reports into the Vice President, Licensed Technologies Group and is a key member of the LTG global leadership team. The Senior Director, Global LTG Marketing is responsible for the Licensed Technologies Group's commercial marketing strategy, annual revenue plan and Global Partner execution and expansion in existing and new markets for LTG. He/she will lead strategic initiatives for developing and helping to set global LTG Marketing direction for Luminex's current and future portfolio and provide leadership for market identification and analysis in support of Luminex's corporate growth goals. The Senior Director, Global LTG Marketing leads the LTG marketing team in the areas of market development, market research, Partner engagement, identification of key market drivers, market trends, competitive positioning in key market segments, in our primary markets.

Key Duties and Responsibilities



  • Responsible for developing strategies and tactics to drive the LTG business forward through our licensed partners and direct customers
  • Establish a deep understanding of the competition and market dynamics for the markets Luminex serves
  • Build long-term global marketing forecasts by using a sound financial model supported by data and assumptions
  • Responsible for the creation and identification of key strategies and tactics to support future revenue growth and profitability and to support Luminex's five-year revenue plan to accelerate growth in the LTG markets
  • Execute standardized approach to market financial models in partnership with the Finance team
  • Contribute to business intelligence activities, including analyzing market trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and enable effective business threat mitigation
  • Support the development and update of the long-term portfolio strategy on a regular basis with supporting business case-based market analyses
  • Leads LTG Marketing team in the areas, market development, market research, partner engagement, identification of market drivers, market trends, and competitive positioning in key market segments
  • Work with the LTG and MDx business units to identify and assess adjacent and emerging market opportunities and build business cases to determine and prioritize value of potential new opportunities
  • Leads the creating and identification of key strategies and tactics to support future revenue growth and profitability based on Marketing plan
  • Perform market assessments and analysis, and supplement assessments by participating in key domestic and international conferences
  • Lead LTG Marketing Planning efforts to support our top Global Partners' operations and commercial objectives
  • Plans and manages within budget all Global LTG marketing spend
  • Collaborates extensively with multiple functional areas globally, including but not limited to Global Sales, Global Strategic Marketing, Finance, Planning, and Analytics, R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance
  • Oversees the direction, planning, execution and interpretation of the LTG markets, Partners, competitors, and key market trends
  • Develops strategies and manage the marketing programs that drive demand for the LTG portfolio
  • Leads LTG's shared strategic goal of identifying new Partner and new market opportunities with Global Strategic Marketing and Business Development
  • Develop on-boarding program and structure of "new" partners
  • Other duties assigned



Education, Experience, and Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related scientific field or Business or Marketing degree required
  • Master's Degree MBA preferred


  • 10+ Years Development and implementation of tactical marketing in global areas required
  • 2+ Years Direct P&L experience and managing direct reports preferred
  • 5+ Years Proven record of accomplishment in global Marketing development and execution required
  • 5+ Years Global marketing experience inclusive of strategic and tactical plans, market strategy; market segmentation, branding, portfolio planning, competitive benchmarking, and pricing. required
  • 5+ Years Overall competency level in analyzing market data and trends and preparing appropriate related reports required
  • 4+ Years Demonstrated effective collaboration in matrixed or highly cross-functional business settings preferred
  • 5+ Years Demonstrated track record of developing marketing plans and corporate strategies required
  • 4+ Years Established and implemented effective Marketing programs for a rapidly expanding business required


Training and Skills



  • Demonstrated Marketing excellence in planning, portfolio planning, market research, segmentation, and analytics (High proficiency)
  • Strategic and Tactical marketing skills (High proficiency)
  • Highly organized with proven time management and prioritization skills (High proficiency)
  • Overall competency level in analyzing market data and trends and preparing appropriate reports (High proficiency)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for building and maintaining both internal and external relationships (High proficiency)
  • Excellent oral and written communication (with all levels within the organization), including diplomacy and negotiation skills (High proficiency)
  • Self-starter, enthusiastic and strategic thinker with a bias for action (High proficiency)
  • Goal orientated individual with demonstrated record of achievement (High proficiency)
  • Must be an experienced user of Microsoft office, Power point, Word and Excel (High proficiency)
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to build consensus and momentum around a shared vision (Medium proficiency)



Travel Requirements



  • 30% Domestic and International travel
