Scope of Job - Develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. The position will recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls. It will also coordinate manufacturing launch for new or revised products. Priorities include process improvement, problem resolution, project management and employee training

Education and Experience:



  • Associates degree in mechanical, manufacturing, quality, materials engineering discipline.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in the firearms industry)


Competencies and Skills:



  • Must be able to read, write and interpret the English language
  • Strong understanding of lean principles
  • Specific knowledge in drawing interpretation and standards (GD & T)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and complete multiple projects and objectives successfully.
  • Experience in addressing needs and concerns of shop personnel in a manufacturing environment
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Works with minimal supervision, establish priority and meet scheduled completion dates.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • SolidWorks and or CAM knowledge a plus
  • CMM programming & PC-DMIS a plus


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Assist with containment & work around opportunities while focusing on solving root cause.
  • Tabulate and analyze quality data.
  • Assists with internal process and gage audits.
  • Create quality alerts and inspection standards as per product requirement.
  • Support incoming inspection department with inspection plans and part measurements
  • Facilitate formal, hands-on Root Cause and Corrective Action activity.
  • Apply statistical quality tools as require to make and support data driven decisions.
  • Provide assistance and direction to the inspectors and quality technicians.
  • Experience or working knowledge of measurement equipment(s) -- micro-hite, comparator, smart scope, hardness tester, etc.
  • Facilitate calibration and routine daily/weekly instrument maintenance to ensure precision of the instruments

  • Works in an office environment and a manufacturing environment.

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:

Within any of our facilities, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting. Work environment is similar to most manufacturing and distribution operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.

The following Personal Protective Equipment is required:



  • Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection required when on manufacturing floor


The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
