Lecturer - Lyons School of Accounting 40320BR Rawls College of Business Position Description The Lyons School of Accounting in the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to begin in fall 2025. About the University Established in 1923, Texas Tech University is a Carnegie R1 (very high research activity) Doctoral/Research-Extensive, Hispanic Serving, and state-assisted institution. Located on a beautiful 1,850-acre campus in Lubbock, a city in West Texas with a growing metropolitan-area population of over 300,000, the university enrolls over 40,000 students with 33,000 undergraduate and 7,000 graduate students. About the College The Rawls College of Business is AACSB accredited and houses the Lyons School of Accounting that holds separate AACSB accreditation. The college offers the BBA degree with majors in accounting, energy commerce, finance, information technology, management, marketing, and supply chain management. Several formats of the MBA program are offered in fulltime, weekend, and online modalities in Lubbock, the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Houston, and San Antonio. The College offers MS degrees in accounting, data science, finance, and marketing research and analytics. A Ph.D. in business administration is offered with tracks in accounting, finance, management, management information systems, and marketing. With a faculty of over 140 and a staff that exceeds 80, the college enrolls over 5,000 undergraduate and 800 graduate students. About the Department/School/Area The Lyons School of Accounting is named after Terry Lyons, an alumnus whose family created a generous endowment to foster excellence in teaching, research, and service. The Lyons School employs 22 full-time faculty (six Lecturers/Senior Lecturers, four Professors of Practice) and 16 tenure-track faculty) and 10 doctoral students. Approximately 250 students enter the undergraduate accounting major each year, and approximately half of these students continue to earn their Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) degree. Major/Essential Functions At Texas Tech University, the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer title designates a full-time, non-tenure-acquiring role with primary duties in teaching organized classes and/or instructional labs.
