Position Purpose |
To provide general support for The Prouty (pre-event, during the event, and post-event).
The Prouty is northern New England's largest family-friendly fundraising event combining cycling, walking, and more to raise funds and awareness for
life-saving research and
critical patient and family support services at Dartmouth Cancer Center.
The 44th Annual Prouty will take place on July 11-12, 2025 and the goal is to raise $10 million to support the important work of the Cancer Center.
The Dartmouth
Cancer Center is dedicated to raising funds to support the services provided by
DCC. The Prouty is the Friends of Dartmouth Cancer Center's signature annual event. The mission of the Friends of Dartmouth Cancer Center (
FDCC) is to raise money and awareness for the Cancer Center.

Required Qualifications |
Skills & Knowledge
- Basic data entry/computer skills.
- Ability to learn basics of Luminate Online web-based data entry system.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must possess and demonstrate good communications skills.
- Ability to answer phones and emails in a professional manner.
- Ability to learn general office tasks essential (e.g., filing, sign-making, inventory).
- Ability to adhere to office dress code, protocols, and confidentiality agreement.
- Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
- Passion for helping to end cancer.
- Brings joy and a sense of humor to workplace.
Experience
* Volunteer or office experience helpful.
Education

Schedule |
- Flexibility in the work schedule is essential. Most work days are about 5 hours in duration although some extended hours into the evening or weekends will be required.
- Given the temporary nature of this internship, we expect minimal time off. Please note that we cannot accommodate requests for days off during the week leading up to June 14, 2025, the week prior to The Prouty, July 7, 2025, and the week following the Prouty event starting on July 14, 2025. Additionally, interns are required to work on the weekends of June 14, 2025, and July 12, 2025.

Notes:
1. This position will be an in-person position based in Lebanon, NH.
2. Interns are expected to provide their own transportation - travel around the Upper Valley will be occasionally required.
3. Candidates under the age of 18 must meet all legal employment policies for minors per New Hampshire Labor Law.
4. Position commitment is approximately from the end of May through the end of July. |

Key Accountabilities
Key Accountabilities |
Fundraising and Outreach 40%
- Support fundraising efforts of the Friends of DCC including but not limited to phone banking, mailings, customer service to Prouty participants, donors, and volunteers.
- Work with participant and fundraiser data to identify areas of opportunity and focus for participant and revenue growth.
- Support the grassroots community outreach effort of the Prouty to increase recruitment of participants and deepen community engagement.
General Office Support 30%
- Answer telephones and email in a helpful and professional manner, using established guidelines.
- Provide general administrative assistance to the FDCC Staff
Other event projects 30%
- May assist with other event projects including, but not exclusive to, sign-making and inventory control, including packing, and unpacking. May require some lifting up to 50 pounds.
