The Role:

Entegris' Semiconductor manufacturing site inHillsboro, OR is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our team. This supervisor directly manages a small team of Manufacturing Engineers in a 24/7/365 manufacturing environment who are responsible for sustaining and quality assurance activities for commercial products. The supervisor will also drive continuous improvement projects to drive process efficiency and reduce product variation. The supervisor is expected to build strong working relationships across the organization and lead their team to solve technical problems related to manufacturing cycle time, cost, quality, product yield and facility operations. This role is responsible for managing, leading, and providing technical and tactical direction and for ensuring proper support of manufacturing processes including staffing levels, issue escalation, and driving high-level operational goals and objectives consistent with the business strategy.This position reports to the Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead an engineering team, and provide technical and tactical direction for defining, maintaining, and improving the manufacturing processes and standardizing across four shifts in a 24/7/365 plant.

  • Manage a team to sustain productivity and quality levels of the manufacturing process. Activities include dispositioning of non-conforming materials (raw materials, intermediates and finished goods), establish/review/update SPC/SQC control limits, maintain FMEAs and Control Plans, and participate in customer quality and ISO audits.

  • Drive your team towards productivity in the manufacturing process by identifying opportunities and implementing solutions to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost. Monitor and manage continuous improvement plans.

  • Drive the team's accountability for Customer Complaints/Requests to meet responsiveness expectations.

  • Direct and develop personnel to improve individual and organizational performance.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to enhance toolset development and utilization and execute to a high standard (e.g., FMEA, SPC; process modeling, Six Sigma)

  • Maintain and enhance cross-functional team relationships by identifying and resolving production/engineering issues.Lead cross-functional efforts to drive continuous improvements that improve quality, profitability, efficiency, new product delivery and productivity in the manufacturing process via preventative maintenance, utilization, utilization or other avenues.

  • Manage projects, alteration of process equipment, machinery, and other production support requirements.

  • Provide guidance and training to staff, developing their team to attain career goals, motivating individuals to achieve results, and recruiting and maintaining a high-quality staff.

  • Successfully complete manufacturing engineering project work on Value Improvement Process (VIP), business continuity and capacity projects, and efficiency improvement for the team.

  • Develop plans and lead expansion of future equipment incorporating current learnings to allow for enhancement and advancement in subsequent equipment revisions.

  • Ensure policies and processes are followed, training requirements are defined, and teams are fully trained.

What We Seek:

  • BS in Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering or a related Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.

  • 3-5+ years of team management and development.

  • 5+ years in manufacturing and leading an engineering function within a manufacturing environment, preferably in a high technology, high-volume product line.

  • Experience in manufacturing problem solving, Process Change Analysis and production flow tools (i.e., LEAN manufacturing).

  • BOM/routing proficiency within an ERP system.

  • Ability to communicate effectively at various levels of the organization.

  • Strategic thinker with a vision of where we want to be in 3-5 years coupled with experience to execute a plan.

  • Experience with statistical software is required, experience with Minitab and/or JMP preferred.

Outstanding Candidates Will Have:

  • Lean/Black Belt certification

  • Strong Quality background in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Quality Systems and Quality Engineering.

  • High degree of competency in Statistical Process Control methods

  • Mechanical design and development of equipment/systems/devices

  • Development and execution of qualification requirements and plans

  • Experience implementing and supporting automation solutions

  • Experience with inspection/test equipment both contact and non-contact
