Cruz Associates Inc. of Yorktown, VA (www.cruzinc.us) has a position open and is looking for qualified candidates for a Project Integrator / Subject Matter Expert (SME) . The job location is TBD in support of Special Operations Mission Planning Environment. Scope: Provides expert advice, assistance, and guidance in support of highly complex Special Operations Mission Planning software and hardware programs being procured/upgraded and fielded by the Special Operation Mission Planning Program Office (SOMPO). The SME must possess significant knowledge and experience with Portable Flight Planning Software (PFPS) tools, Microsoft Operating Systems, and Microsoft Office products. Successful performance requires extensive knowledge of USSOCOM fixed wing platforms and mission equipment, SOMPO modernization initiatives, DoD acquisition processes, and the ability to interface effectively with industry partners, Government agencies, and senior operational and acquisition leaders. Uses a wide application of principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to develop innovative solutions to problems. Applies expert knowledge to gather facts, research and analyze the data, and develop conclusions, recommendations, and implement/execute approved project plans. Responsibilities:
- Aids the software
development team on Computer Based Training initiatives. - Creates training
videos and other training aids in support of SOMPO mission planning products - Organizes and
leads Program Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings (TIM) and Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews (PDR/CDR). - Supports
independent developmental test and evaluation initiatives for SOMPO and Service developed software programs. - Supports testing
initiatives for: technical compliance of defined requirements, functional capability, performance, usability, product install and uninstall procedures, integration within a specified software environment on host computer hardware platforms, and data loading/retrieval operations to specific platforms. - Serves as senior
technical adviser to the SOMPO PM on complex and critical projects. - Provides the
highest level of technical, analytical, and program management support for all SOMPO managed commodities. - Identifies
potential risks, develops appropriate mitigation plans and implements solutions should technical issues arise, or user requirements change.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree
in Engineering, Scientific, or related technical discipline or equivalent technical training or work experience. - 20 years
experience working in military aviation.
Desired Education and Experience:
- Former Military
Instructor at a DoD Formal Training Institution. - 10 years SOF
Mission Planning experience.
