Job Requirements:

Proactively assist suppliers to ensure a "Flawless Product" launch of a component, system and module (including but not limited to the following events):

* BS in Engineering

* Know the program requirements (including service)

* Participate actively in supplier technical and process capability / design and validation reviews

* Conduct problem resolution and continuous improvement efforts

* Lead periodic risk assessment of Ford Motor Company / Supplier readiness

* Communicate assessment status, including the sign-off and approval of progress throughout the product development process

* Review and approve all supplier deliverables

* Identify, measure, monitor and control critical to quality characteristics of the product / launch

* Assure that all Ford Motor Company methodologies / processes are maximized and enhanced

* Communicate with other Functional Engineering activities to resolve issues between interfacing components.

* Develop vehicle package for the commodity

* Utilize FEDE / WERS as the master program BOM including key attribute data for all parts.

* Take ownership of and maintain parts in FEDE / WERS which are manufactured by FORD MOTOR COMPANY or are "build-to-print" parts not supplier designed.

* Ensure CAD-to-BOM alignment throughout program

* Sign-off on System / Sub-system Assembly PFMEA and Control Plan (MSOW selection number)

* Define supplier traceability requirements in accordance with FAP02-007 (reference GMR-2133).

Continuously, support throughout the Ford Motor Company Product Development Process to ensure a "Flawless Product" launch (including but not limited to the following events):

* Supplier technical and process capability / design reviews

* Program improvement efforts & recovery plans

* Communicate all risks to FORD MOTOR COMPANY

* Product / program status reviews

* Ensure all deliverables are met

* All critical to quality characteristics of the product / launch

* Develop product and process assurance plans that maximize the utilization technical resources while ensuring both product and process

* Ensure the required SCCAFs are identified, approved, monitored and controlled.

* Incorporate all optimization improvements to design

* Utilize Ford Motor Company-provided hard points for package/architecture

* Take ownership of parts which are loaded in FEDE / WERS, create new entries as required, maintain accurate and provide records

* Obtain FEDE / WERS access, remote access and training (as required)

Demonstrate the utilization of the following disciplines:

* Design for Assembly

* Design for Manufacturing

* Total Cost Management

* Design for Service

* Design for Environment/Recyclability/Re-manufacturing

* Support Total Cost Process as needed, i.e. Input into Waterfalls, Design Efficiency Analysis (DEA)

Engineering prove-out including:

* Ensure the required SCCAFs are identified, approved, monitored and controlled

* Development and maintenance of Design & Process FMEAs

* Compliance with requirements (i.e., TM, GAP, Specification, Design Rules, TGSS)

* Evidence of compliance to technical requirements

* Develop and maintain Risk and Opportunity list for cost/weight/investment/function for all targets from inception to launch

* Ensure design & compliance with production & aftermarket homologation requirements for all parts (including service)
