Position Summary Coordinates functions involved in the planning, routing, and shipping of outbound product in the most efficient cost-effective manner. Keep open lines of communication with Production, Scheduling, Inside Sales, and Customers to provide complete and timely deliveries. Determines methods of transportation, loading sequence and delivery times to satisfy customers while maximizing the use of all transportation equipment. Associate must be able to multitask, have good communication skills, and excellent organizational skills. They must also can prioritize and be detail oriented. Responsibilities
Determine internal loading schedule and customer delivery schedule. Build loads to ensure customer satisfaction. Provide shipping information to appropriate personnel for verification of delivery schedule. Confirm that shipments have departed on time and process necessary paperwork for billing and on time reporting. Accurately determine weight and quantity per drop at load level Manage shipments with Client Services to meet customer delivery requirements. Maintain a professional manner when questions and concerns arise. Establish and maintain relations with warehouse personnel, truckload carriers, LTL carriers, ocean carriers, customs broker, drayage providers and 3rd party logistics providers. Assist purchasing to ensure timely inbound deliveries to prevent scheduling disruptions. Maintain communication with production personnel to ensure that planned loading times coincide with production schedules. Communicate move-outs, late orders and/or ship date changes to Client Services. Maintain complete knowledge and apply company policies, job work instructions, work specifications and associated work processes/procedures. Identify enhancement opportunities and suggest solutions for improvement to management. Provide intervention and direction when needed to solve shipping/loading/truck transit routing problems. Determine best carrier to use for each load based on rate, region, and customer's needs. Maintain carrier pricing knowledge based on current industry and business trends. All other duties, responsibilities, and projects as assigned.
Experience & Skills Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Previous Traffic or related experience preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office software
Required Skills:
Effective time management skills. Familiarity with ERP systems Ability to work in a cross-functional team. Effective interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written skills Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision Preferred Skills:
