Job Summary:

Direct specialty call center operations, budget, people, performance management and production planning to ensure achievement of annual collection goals and quality and process improvement initiatives. Establish and implement strategic direction for multiple recruitment efforts. Implement standard operating procedures and policies, remedy efficiency issues and ensure compliance with all organizational and regulatory requirements. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and implement strategic direction to ensure the efficient and effective collection of specialized blood products to meet collection goals. Develop and monitor production to ensure sufficient capacity and effective utilization of resources.

  • Direct donor recruitment and scheduling of donors to ensure achievement of annual collection goals in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible. Ensure recruitment teams successfully perform calling activities that meet patient need, such as maintaining demand requirements for day of week, and manufacturing location.

  • Develop, implement and monitor process improvement/quality improvement initiatives and staff training protocols, consistent with standard processes. Ensure timely implementation and compliance of training documentation and regulatory communications.

  • Monitor, evaluate and correct donor flow and customer service problems in concert with collection operations to improve donor satisfaction and contribute to achievement of organization goals.

  • Ensure effective internal and external communication between all department levels and functions to foster teamwork and enhance operational success.

  • Oversee execution of marketing programs and ensure integration with marketing channels to maximize effective achievement of collection goals.

  • Manage, coach and mentor managers, supervisors and staff across multiple divisions in accordance with personnel policies and bargaining unit contracts, including performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and employment decisions to enhance success of the operation and minimize turnover. Ensure appropriate staffing is in place to efficiently and effectively run operations.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree required.

Experience: Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.

Management Experience: 5 years of management experience.

Skills & Abilities: Ability to work on a team. Knowledge of customer service techniques and negotiation skills, ability to effectively implement programs and excellent organizational skills are required. Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively, assimilate information quickly, analyze problems and implement solutions appropriately is required. Must have the ability to work independently while developing a functioning team as well as have excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with all levels of staff. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, including training, presentation and negotiating skills. Intermediate level computer skills with Microsoft Office applications in a Windows environment are required. Ability to work in a fast paced call center environment required.

Travel: Some travel may be required.

*Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).
