The Officer, Donor Relations (Stewardship) at Brigham and Women's Hospital will assist in the implementation of a comprehensive donor relations plan in accordance with the Development Office's strategic fundraising goals. The scope of work includes recognition, stewardship, and related communication activities primarily geared towards major gift donors. The position reports to the Director of Donor Relations (Stewardship). We offer excellent benefits, competitive salaries, and a hybrid flexible work schedule!

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of an integrated donor relations plan to provide appropriate stewardship for all donors with an emphasis on major donors.

  • Working with gift officers, create proposal materials for potential new naming opportunities. Assist in the development of new naming opportunities on the Hospital's campus and refinement of naming opportunity policies and guidelines.

  • Coordinate with Development Communications to enhance existing collateral and develop innovative new materials to help increase and convey the overall impact of capital giving.

  • Lead all aspects of the Hospital's inventory of named space. Review campus renovations and relocations that affect named space. Working with IS, track named spaces in database. Record discontinued and historical naming opportunities and help develop strategies for comparable recognition when appropriate.

  • Coordinate event-related stewardship, including all pre- and post-event needs (proclamations, photobooks, notes, etc.), as well as work with gift officers to identify areas where additional stewardship is necessary.

  • Coordinate the installation and maintenance of plaques, signage, and recognition walls. Work with signage vendors to secure pricing information and with gift officers to secure approvals for signage. Work with vendor or Facilities to coordinate signage installation, and process signage-related invoices.

  • Assist in the production of donor recognition lists with the Director, Donor Relations (Stewardship). Work with IS to ensure all eligible donors are captured and accurate, coordinate the review and approval of donor lists by gift officers, and collaborate with Communications and signage vendors on list design. Work with Communications to develop non-list related content.

  • Help to create a manual of Stewardship and Donor Relations procedures, policies, resources and other useful information for the team and the entire Development office.

  • Help create and maintain custom stewardship displays throughout campus.

  • In coordination with the Development Associate, Donor Relations and Information Systems, enter stewardship-related data into RE.

  • Assist with stewardship events, content for stewardship reports, acknowledgements, special correspondence and other projects as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, with 3 to 5 years of related experience in donor relations, marketing, and/or writing.
  • Strong commitment to customer service and quality standards.
  • Proficiency in CRM and MS Office product suite, including mastery of Excel and reporting tools within CRM and SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with fundraising practices including IRS regulations related to gift acceptance, valuation, and 501c3 operational requirements.
