Job Summary

Contribute to Astound's success by delivering reliable, high quality products to customers. Responsible for the reception and distribution of off-air, satellite, microwave and tape originated programming to the outside plant utilizing coaxial cable, microwave, and fiber optic transmission technologies. This includes the installation, construction, operation and repair of all equipment associated with the headend and signal distribution network.

Duties and Responsibilities



  • Monitor Video and Audio quality of services
  • Daily check of RF levels and alignment
  • Verify video and audio levels for satellite and stereo processing equipment
  • Monitor commercial insertion equipment
  • Perform status monitoring
  • Identify and repair issues related to groomers, edge devices, satellite receivers and optical equipment.
  • Understand the optical networks in the headend such as BC/NC and Unicast platform
  • Test equipment such as OTDR's, OSA's
  • Other duties as assigned



Requirements/Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent, Cisco Certification (Preferred)

Experience: 1-3 years telecom related experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to accurately measure distances using measuring devices

Differentiate between sizes and colors of wires

Proficient in Google Suite

Base Salary: The base salary range in Oregon for this position is $23.50/hr - $49.00/hr, plus opportunities for bonus, benefits and commission, if applicable. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities. It is specific to {insert state} and may not be applicable to other locations.




  • Headend Technician I- $23.50 - $32.00 per hour
  • Headend Technician II- $30.00 - $47.50 per hour
  • Headend Technician III-- $32.50 - $49.00 per hour
