Job Summary

The Process Engineer II is responsible for performing design and analysis work as directed to support various projects in the natural gas processing, cryogenic storage and testing, and chemical manufacturing markets.


Essential Functions

  • Actively supports the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values."

  • Perform design and configuration work for tanks, vessels, foundations, floating roofs, stacks, and structural steel.
  • Perform design of relief systems
  • Perform hydraulic analysis and calculations for piping systems
  • Develop PFD, PID, sizing and rating of various process equipment
  • Develop Heat and Material Balance
  • Perform design calculations and analysis using MathCAD, ProMax, Fathom, Aspen HYSYS or other calculation packages.
  • Reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulation.
  • Executes process engineering deliverables according to a set engineering design criteria utilizing approved engineering procedures, practices, and standards.
  • Develop design sketches for use by the drafting group including PIDs and PFDs.
  • Review drawings developed by the drafting group.
  • Works on a major project or several projects in parallel of moderate scope with complex features.
  • Participate in project reviews including HAZOP, PHAs and Plant Model Reviews.
  • Works on a major project or several projects of moderate scope with complex features.
  • Support bid work as required.
  • Works in a workshare environment with teams from various other locations
  • Performs other related duties, as directed.


    Qualifications

    • BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering required; MS degree preferred. Engineer-In-Training (EIT) preferred.
    • 2+ years related engineering experience is required.
    • Demonstrated problem solving skills in applying design and analysis knowledge to field issues.
    • Demonstrated experience developing process deliverables including PFD, PID, equipment sizing, hydraulic analysis, and functional descriptions.
    • Demonstrated experience with one of the following analysis tools: HYSYS, ProMax or other simulation software.
    • General understanding of ANSI, API, ASME and NFPA standards.
    • Demonstrated experience with Battery Limit Lists including the line lists, equipment list, and initial instrument list.
    • Experience with relief valve sizing / scenario documentation, flare system analysis and final reporting, including the sizing of the relief valve inlet and outlet line sizing.
    • Cooperates with other team members; interacts with individuals at all organizational levels in professional manner.
    • Exhibits excellent listening, oral and written skills.
    • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously under time sensitive deadlines.
    • Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
    • Occasional overtime and travel (20%) may be required.
