Responsibilities
Location: Wichita, KS (On site) **This is primarily 2nd shift, but candidates must be flexible and have the ability to work 1st shift if necessary as per business needs dictate Key Accountabilities
- Seal, fillet and fay, cap seal, brush coat, etc. for major assemblies, sub-assemblies, precision bench and integral fuel cell
- Apply scotchcast, leveling compound, aerodynamic seal and pressure test, working from drawings, documents, process specifications, quality control requirements and established processes and procedures
- The Company will provide appropriate assistance in job training to enable employees to perform all necessary job functions including work with blueprints, changes, specifications, work orders, sealing to quality requirements, etc.
- Complete required data gathering transactions to facilitate all sealer progression
- Perform any and all required pickup, rework, fabrication, change incorporation, functional testing or check during or after final seal and/or seal progression
- Use measuring instruments as required to accomplish work assignments
- Report and/or investigate job handicaps such as: errors, assembly procedures, tools, sequences, etc.
- Support the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process by training, coaching and assisting employees of all classification levels
- Document any discrepancies according to specification, process, and procedure
- Temporarily attach parts and or assemblies, install collars and other hardware not related to drilling or countersinking
- Pressure / Vacuum Test - Perform visual and auditory leak checks in aircraft sections
- Employee must have the skill and knowledge to perform all of the general functions including Aerodynamic seal
- Major Assembly / Sub Assembly and Integral Fuel Cell - Apply sealing compounds to seal fuel cell and wing section components
- Integral Fuel Cell Sealing - Apply sealing compounds to seal fuel cell and related wing section components
- Additionally, the employee must have the skill and knowledge to perform one or more of the skills listed below, along with any lower-level sealant level of major assembly or large structure sealing or aerodynamic sealing
- Sub Assembly will have small part sealing or major assembly large structure sealing or aerodynamic sealing or Scotch Cast Application and final sanding
- Sealer - Seal parts, assemblies and sub-assemblies fillet and fay, apply leveling compound or scotch cast, etc.
- Pressure / Vacuum Test - Perform visual and auditory leak checks in aircraft sections
- Integral Fuel Cell - Apply sealing compounds to seal fuel cell and wing section components
Qualifications
Requirements
- All applicants must be willing and able to work any shift, including alternative work weeks. New hires will be trained on 1st shift, then moved to 2nd shift
- Ability to work on concrete floors, uneven surfaces, and in confined spaces, as well as walk on open floor beams, climb on stairs/scaffolding, crawl/kneel in workstation, and lift/move parts and/or tools
- Pass the WorkKeys Assessment (workkeys.com) or provide verification that they have passed the WorkKeys Assessment. Delay in completing your WorkKeys Assessment will result in a delay in your start date. You may complete your assessment in advance of an interview
Preferred Qualifications
- Active DoD Security Clearance, OR be willing to obtain one, and ability to obtain program access
- Work with blueprints, changes, specifications, work orders, etc. sealing to quality requirements
- Complete required data gathering transactions to facilitate all sealer progression
