Business/Systems Analyst and E-forms & Workflow Developer

Salary Range $73,000 - $73,950

While this position utilizes a hybrid modality, prospective applicants must be located either in the state of Minnesota or near the Wisconsin border or otherwise open to relocation.

Position summary
This position serves as a technical analyst and developer for all Academic Support Resources (ASR) Jadu electronic form and workflow deployments and integrations. The role supports ASR's goal of delivering streamlined, efficient processes for students, staff, and faculty by developing and enhancing eForms and workflows that improve user experience and reduce processing time.

The E-Forms & Workflow Developer collaborates closely with business process owners and other stakeholders to understand requirements, implement solutions, and provide technical support. Additionally, the developer will lead and assist in analysis and requirements gathering for workflow process improvement projects, ensuring alignment with business needs and best practices.

Jadu is an enterprise-wide application that allows UMN units to create and manage online forms and workflows. No coding is required, but a technical knowledge is helpful to learn and navigate the nuances of the platform. Jadu integrates with other systems, such as PeopleSoft and Perceptive Content.

The knowledge, skills, and abilities of all ASR employees include job knowledge, communication, problem solving/analysis, development, leadership, teamwork, and customer service. Academic Support Resources supports hybrid and flexible working arrangements. Work arrangements are determined in coordination with supervisors depending on the nature of the unit and position. The arrangement for this position will be determined upon hire between employee and supervisor.

This position will be a Temporary 3-year appointment, ending in 2028.

Essential job functions
Technical analysis/development (60%)

  • Analyze current business processes for improvement opportunities and redesign in the Jadu platform
  • Work with the business process owner and stakeholders to translate functional business requirements to technical requirements that will be delivered through the solution
  • Present design concepts and negotiate with process owners to arrive at a solution that supports the business, technical design and a strong user experience
  • Create and execute development plans for new processes and enhancements to existing processes
  • Develop solutions within the platform
  • Develop and conduct thorough test plans
  • Assist with planning and prioritization of work on a quarterly basis and adapt plans on ongoing basis

Business/operations support (30%)

  • Support process owners and teams with technical and process issues related to Jadu forms/workflows and related integrations
  • Manage incident tickets and support requests for issues and bugs
  • Develop maintenance and support plans and schedules for regular updates based on business needs
  • Conduct regular maintenance, upgrade, and bug fix development within the ASR e-forms and workflow portfolio

Professional Development & Growth (10%)

  • Train and develop staff across ASR on Jadu system usage and backend data support, and related Perceptive Content integrated processes.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of tools, including Jadu, Perceptive Content, Salesforce, Google Scripts/Apps, and technical methodologies, business analysis, and project management.
  • Pursue professional growth through training, workshops, and reading

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree plus 2 years of full-time work experience, or a Master's degree.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies and requirements definition techniques
  • Ability to work under general/indirect supervision, to make decisions on work, and to allocate personal resources
  • Ability to communicate technology concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical individuals, using clear and concise language that is appropriate for the audience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience developing wireframes, sitemaps, customer journeys, prototypes, and other UX artifacts.
  • Knowledge of user experience (UX) research, UX design, and UX evaluation principles, methods, and heuristics.
  • Familiarity with form-building tools (MS tools, Google Tools, Wafoo)
  • Effective customer service and public contact skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
About the Department

Pay Range: $73,000 - $73,950 annually depending on education/qualifications/experience
