Sr Account Executive - BD

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the support of business development prospecting efforts to ensure the growth of new business and partnerships. This role will actively contribute to the growth strategy for Syneos Health Advertising, Digital, Market Access, Public Relations and Medical Communications agencies in North America.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains key target information for companies/brands and customers to support an evolving targeting execution plan. This plan factors in elements such as new asset approvals/denials, phase 3 clinical trial status, shifts in decision makers, new partnerships across Commercial, and new business pitch status.
  • Conducts company and asset research for lead identification relevant to each agency discipline.
  • Utilizes various channels to establish initial contact with prospective clients. Builds rapport through discovery conversations and sharing of company insights and challenges to move prospect to next stage of conversion funnel.
  • Monitors and tracks the performance of customer engagement and new business efforts against established KPIs and business objectives.
  • Conducts prospecting activities (e.g. email, telephone, linked in, and conference outreach) to identify potential clients within the pharmaceutical industry, providing insight to client needs, challenges, current advertising strategies, and acting on those insights to support new business activities.
  • Works with the Communications Business Development VP team to support the execution of agreed targeted marketing and sales strategies to attract new clients.
  • Schedules and coordinates meetings or introductory calls with potential clients to understand their requirements and present the agency's services.
  • Collaborates with the business development team to ensure a smooth transition of new clients from the prospecting stage to active accounts.
  • Stays informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities to inform prospecting efforts.
  • Develops, analyzes, and maintains target customer lists within Salesforce to provide insight to leadership and support customer engagement and communications.
  • Works with Commercial Business Development and Communications account teams to maintain updated relationship maps and target engagement status

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

* Undergraduate degree and minimum of 4 years of experience working in a business development or related sales/prospecting role.

* Experience working within the marketing, medical communications or PR industries with experience and knowledge of Pharma Industry is a plus

* Understanding of and experience working in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus

* Strong technical knowledge of CRM and prospecting software (e.g. Salesforce, Linked In) and terminology is a plus

* Excellent communication, effective presentation, and organizational skills

* Demonstrates a natural sense of curiosity and resourcefulness to better understand internal stakeholders, teams and client priorities.

* Collaborative with a commitment to partnership within and across departments. Can provide clear direction and accountabilities with strong attention to detail and ability to work on multiple priorities.

* Strong motivational, critical thinking and influence skills

* Practices professionalism and integrity in all actions - demonstrated commitment to teamwork, cooperation, self-control, and flexibility.

* Up to 10% travel for company meetings, client meetings and industry conferences, as needed

* Ability to communicate in English (both verbal and written)

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $60,930.00 to $115,100. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
