Production Supervisor

Position Summary: Responsible for assisting the Production Manager in the day-to-day operations of one or more specific production department. This includes material handling, reporting, inspections, inventory, employee management and other assigned tasks. Documents shipping and production numbers reporting incidents, attendance.

Essential duties and responsibilities (3-5 core functions representing 80% of time spent):

• Assists Production Manager in day-to-day operational success of assigned departments.
• Over sees the material handling and production process.
• Conducts quality inspections per ISO requirements.
• Assists in inventory control of assigned departments.
• Fills in if regular employee is absent or assistance is needed to meet a shipping deadline.
• Assists Production Manager with any departmental training or orientation and tracking of training.
• Assist Continuous Improvement Coordinator in ensuring the department is running efficiently and meeting goals and deadlines.
• Ensures that all company policies and procedures are followed.
• Track and evaluate employee performance along with counseling when needed
• Performs shift administrative activities such as time/absence reporting via Paycom, attendance control, vacation planning, overtime, etc.

• Ensures a safe working environment through modeling safe behaviors, leading audits/inspections, correcting unsafe behaviors, conducting safety meetings, and utilizing proper work methods, procedures, and equipment.
• Must wear all protective equipment required by department.
• Must follow all company policies and procedures including departmental safety policies.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Minimum education, experience, training, licensure, certification):

• High School diploma or equivalent plus 2 years' experience in production and/or manufacturing operations. One year must be in a supervisory or lead position.
