PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Benefits Manager is responsible for coordinating the administration of corporate benefit programs such as medical, dental and vision insurances, group life insurances, long term disability insurances, FSA / HSA programs, and employee leave programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Implements and Administers benefits for multiple companies and contracts including SCA and CBA contracts.
  • Responsible for Administration of FMLA, LOA, and other leave programs as applicable.
  • Workers Compensation and OSHA reporting.
  • Serves as primary contact for benefits for all Yulista Holding locations.
  • Works with Corporate Benefits team to provide quotes and pricing of benefits current, future and potential work.
  • Works with Corporate Benefits team to design and obtain benefits coverage as needed for Yulista Holding companies.
  • Administers annual open enrollment process.
  • Travels to locations for new contract set up for benefits meetings and travel to contract locations for annual open enrollment meetings.
  • Creates benefits materials for new hires, open enrollment, and recruiting candidates.
  • Manages benefits staff by coaching, counseling, and mentoring employees.
  • Resolves employee questions and problems by interpreting benefit policies and procedures.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • The Benefits Manager may be required to perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job will manage and direct daily workflow of benefits staff employees. This position has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Advanced computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs. Working knowledge of advanced software applications is preferred.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Will also routinely interact with external contacts such as customers, vendors, suppliers, shipping companies, etc. Must represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Must be trustworthy - will handle confidential information routinely.
  • Must possess effective communication skills to clearly communicate information to others.
  • Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data and consider decision impact across multiple areas.
  • Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. Must be able to communicate issues to management.
  • Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to goals.
  • High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to multi-task.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA / BS in Human Resources, or Business Management with 5+ years benefits experience in a government contracting environment.
  • Must have a current HR benefit related knowledge base, including FMLA, ADA & COBRA.
  • Highly effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience with union benefits programs is a plus.
  • Workday Experience is strongly preferred.
