About the Role: We are looking for a Demand Planner to join our PharmBIO team. In this role, the Demand Planner is responsible for leading the processes to collect and create the demand plans for the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process through collaboration with Sales, Product Specialist, Supply Chain, Engineering, etc. and utilization of statistical modeling/forecasting tools. They document the supporting assumptions that underpin the plans and resulting forecast. They manage all aspects of the demand plan, create scenarios as necessary, and partner/collaborate with Supply Chain on potential demand/supply gaps and issues. They develop and align with Supply Chain on inventory planning strategies to meet demand plans. They are responsible for measuring the performance of the demand plan and leading performance improvement.

This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

Pay and Benefits:



  • $99,000 - $140,000 per year

Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for identifying and planning for all sources of demand (sales, samples, internal, new product development, phase-in/phase-out) for the 3-24 month horizon
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Business to understand sales strategies, promotional plans, and customer feedback to incorporate into the demand plan
  • Analyze any trends and update the demand plan using appropriate forecasting models/tools and any Sales and Business input/feedback; manage and take appropriate action on abnormal demand and demand exceptions as necessary
  • Develop the S&OP demand plans in volume and price/revenue, document assumptions supporting the plans, and facilitate the Demand Review process
  • Disaggregate demand and create a forecast at the mix level and short-term horizon to communicate to the Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Planners
  • Manage changes in demand in the short (0-3 months) and mid-term, and collaborate on solutions with the Supply Chain and Planners; partner with Supply Chain as needed to model demand scenarios
  • Work with Supply Chain and Planners to develop inventory planning strategies/targets to support demand plans; monitor key monthly KPI's
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects/efforts in demand planning processes, methods, metrics, practices and policies
  • Stay updated with industry trends and internal/external best practices related to demand planning and S&OP
  • Validate the 5-year demand plan to support Product life cycle management or credible growth plan as needed by the business


Required Qualifications:



  • BS/BA degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, Technical field or Supply Chain and minimum 5 years relevant experience in Sales, Marketing, Product Management and/or Supply Chain
  • OR minimum 10 years proven experience in one or more of the following: Account Management, Progression of planning roles into Master Planner or Supply Chain Leadership roles
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in S&OP processes in the mid- and long-term horizons
  • Experience in scenario planning, including ability to work with financial assessments
  • Experience with demand forecasting/reporting tools (i.e SAP IBP, Anaplan) and SAP ERP functionality
  • Demonstrated clear understanding of supply chain management principles and inventory management & strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, and implement solutions for continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively interact with cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data manipulation and/or statistical analysis techniques
  • Ability to travel 5%



Desired Qualifications:



  • MBA (Master's Supply Chain or Master's Business Administration)
  • APICS (ASCM) CPIM certification, CSCP or IBF (Institute of Business Forecasting) certification
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
