Sentara Medical Group has a unique opportunity for aMedical Assistant to join The Dedicated Care Center inNorfolk, VA!

What makes the Dedicated Care Center unique? We are Sentara's only concierge practice. We pride ourselves in being able to dedicate more time to spend with our patients by having smaller panel sizes. We offer weekday office hours (which means no weekends), potential for staff to earn monthly incentives and each staff member has their own personal office!

As aMedical Assistantwith Sentara, you will work directly with a doctor conducting clerical and some limited clinical duties, which include bringing the patients into rooms, taking vitals, verifying patient information, and preparing them for the doctor. Overview

Perform patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Education

  • High School Graduate or equivalent

Certification/Licensure

  • Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, or certified EMT (EMT-B, AEMT, or Paramedic) required

Experience

  • Required to have one year of clinical/administrative experience
  • Minimum of one year experience in a healthcare setting or one year experience as an EMT, Paramedic, and/or Corpsman preferred.
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred, plus experience with electronic medical records.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay rate for Full Time employment is:$16.92 - $25.38Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
