Position Summary

As the Accounting Manager at Light & Wonder, you will oversee all general accounting functions, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and within deadlines. This role involves managing the financial close process, preparing and analyzing month-end reports and explaining variances. You will work very closely with the Global Close and Control and Shared Service teams to integrate certain functions and processes. You will be responsible for account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies, and documenting accounting processes and procedures. Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards for the Charitable gaming business is crucial. Additionally, you will develop, implement and oversee accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will have experience in process improvement and change management, continuously enhancing accounting processes and managing changes effectively. The role will also work closely with various functions in the organization, including but not limited to FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Financial Reporting, Technical Accounting, IT, Legal, etc.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage accounting processes and any prospective personnel, utilize global shared services to ensure all deadlines are met, including soft/hard closes, key/non-key account reconciliations, external/internal audit requests, and compliance obligations.
  • Leverage shared services departments such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, fixed assets, and leases, among others.
  • Collaborate with the technical accounting and financial reporting teams to ensure supplemental information and schedules are complete and accurate.
  • Ensure accounting treatments adhere to corporate accounting policies, working closely with technical accounting to develop or adjust policies as needed.
  • Focus initially on integrating operations into the global ERP system.
  • Develop a partnership with the FP&A team to ensure accounting information enhances management review.
  • Handle additional requests and/or projects assigned by the Director of Accounting as organizational needs change and/or beyond Charitable gaming business.

Qualifications:

Training and/or Experience

  • At least 2 years of management experience is required.
  • Experience with major ERP systems is required, preferably Oracle.
  • Robust understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC financial reporting, and management reporting and analysis
  • Deep understanding and ability to oversee monthly global close and consolidation, including close coordination with all SSC globally.
  • Deep understanding of IT technology including Oracle, HFM, and Blackline.
  • Motivated by and thrives in a fast-paced environment with frequent ad hoc requests and changing priorities.
  • Experience working in multi-national environments; able to collaborate effectively across different cultures, experience levels, etc.

Education:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or business is required.
  • An active CPA license is required.
