Responsibilities

Are you a dedicated and compassionate Counselor looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of adolescents and young adults? If you are passionate about helping young individuals navigate their health journeys, we want to hear from you!

What You'll Do:

  • Empower and Inspire: Facilitate weekly individual counseling and dynamic group sessions, guiding clients through their personal growth journeys within our innovative clinical model.
  • Be a Stabilizing Force: Provide a consistent and supportive presence in the milieu, collaborating closely with Care Coordinators and residential staff to foster a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Champion Client Progress: Evaluate reflective assignments and make advancement recommendations, celebrating client achievements as they navigate through our structured stage system.
  • Create Engaging Experiences: Schedule and coordinate experiential and recreational activities that reward clients for their progress and enhance their therapeutic experience.
  • Collaborate for Success: Work hand-in-hand with the treatment team to develop tailored treatment goals and ensure comprehensive service coordination, all while conducting regular assessments and updates.
  • Crisis Management: Conduct risk assessments and provide timely crisis intervention, ensuring the safety and well-being of all clients.
  • Educate and Advocate: Provide substance use education to clients, families, and the community, empowering them with knowledge and resources.
  • Document with Precision: Complete all required documentation promptly and according to established standards, maintaining the highest level of professionalism.
  • Engage in Continuous Learning: Participate in weekly treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision, contributing to a culture of collaboration and growth.
  • Represent Our Mission: Attend meetings, trainings, and conferences to represent Newport Healthcare and share our commitment to excellence in care.

Qualifications

  • Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required.

Master's Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is preferred.

  • Credentials:

Credentialed as a mental health or substance abuse counselor (e.g., CDP, CAC, CADC, RAD, SUDC) is preferred. A willingness to pursue certification in the state where services are provided is required.

Preferred to be board registered (e.g., APCC, LAPC, ASW, AMFT, MHCA, LMHC) with a credentialing agency within the state where services are provided.

  • Experience:

Required experience in individual and/or group therapy with young adults and adolescents.

Preferred experience in mental health, substance abuse, or trauma-informed treatment.

**Pay range for this position is $23 to $30 per hour depending on education and experience.

We are committed to providing competitive and equitable compensation. An individual's pay rate within the posted range is determined by several factors, including skills, experience, education, and market conditions. Additionally, we consider internal equity to ensure fairness within our organization.
