Now Hiring an Experienced Design Engineer - Crafting Innovation, Engineering Excellence!

Advantage Technical is seeking new talent in Bethel, CT, to hire an experienced Design Engineer to perform design work and provide project engineering support for sustaining products and new product development. We are looking for a candidate with prior experience in aerospace, automotive, or medical device industries paired with at least two years of experience with pressure sensor/transducer design.

Pay: $55-$65 per hour (Based on experience)

Essential Functions:



  • Engineering Solutions & Project Management: Develops engineering solutions that meet customer performance, reliability, cost, and schedule requirements. Works closely with customers to define precise, non-ambiguous requirements and provides technical direction from concept to product delivery.
  • Mechanical & Electromechanical Systems: Possesses a strong understanding of mechanical and electromechanical systems, ensuring robust design methods. Manages concept layout, modeling, detailing, and change management within a configuration control system while ensuring compliance with quality system requirements.
  • Component Specification & Collaboration: Establishes technical requirements for fabricated and procured components, selecting appropriate materials, finishes, and processes. Works closely with manufacturing, quality engineers, customers, and suppliers, including site visits when necessary.
  • Mechanical Design & Manufacturing Optimization: Designs cast, machined, and plastic/metallic additively manufactured components, collaborating with manufacturing teams and suppliers for optimal design solutions. Develops electromechanical sensor packaging, CAD models, BOM structures, and production drawings.
  • Engineering Analysis & Compliance Verification: Works with other teams to conduct structural, thermal, fluid dynamics, and other engineering analyses. Ensures compliance with specifications by developing compliance matrices against customer requirements.
  • Customer & Technical Communication: Interfaces directly with customers to discuss and explain drawings, engineering analyses, and manufacturing processes with clarity and expertise.
  • Product Lifecycle & Documentation: Manages and releases drawings, models, and technical documentation through Eaton's product lifecycle management system.
  • Design Verification & Validation Testing: Develop plans for design verification and validation testing while providing hands-on support in the testing environment.
  • Product Improvement & Cost Reduction: Evaluates engineering change requests and implements product improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Failure Investigation & Problem Solving: Leads failure investigations related to field, production, and development/certification hardware.
  • Sales & Marketing Support: Assists sales and marketing teams in generating proposals and responding to customer inquiries.
  • Fluid Flow Product Design: Designs fluid flow products and related fixturing while justifying design choices based on fundamental fluid mechanics principles.
  • Prototype Development & Testing: Oversees the design, build, and testing of engineering prototypes for proposals and internal R&D projects.

Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Six+ years of experience in mechanical design or project engineering.
