As our Senior Learning and Development Specialist, you will use your learning and development skillset to help design, deliver, and enhance training that will not only help our business thrive but also help our employees become their most remarkable selves.

As you join our team, you will partner with the Retail Operations team to develop engaging, innovative training materials, workshops, and e-learning that will help us drive sales and execution. Coborn's is a company of 9,500+ employees and is planning for future growth, so our team will also be looking for your partnership to identify future training opportunities and requirements for new training requests.

Collaboration with Business Leaders & Subject Matter Experts

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the operational leaders and cross-functional teams to align learning initiatives with business objectives.
  • Partner with the HR Business Partners and the Director of Operations on succession planning and create individualized learning plans for high potential employees.
  • Partner with Subject Matter Experts to ensure learning content is compliant, accurate and effective.
  • Periodically visit company locations to gain feedback on L&D initiatives and learn about new training needs that can support business operations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new L&D training requests. Responsible for documenting and following up on all requests in a timely manner.

Training Program Design & Delivery

  • Design, develop, and deliver high quality and engaging training programs, including instructor-led sessions, e-learnings, and blended learning approaches.
  • Ensure learning materials are compliant, up-to-date, relevant, and aligned with business needs.
  • Facilitate training workshops for employees at all levels, including leadership development programs.

Learning Strategy & Needs Assessments

  • Conduct training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and recommend learning solutions.
  • Measure the effectiveness of training programs through data, evaluations, feedback, and performance assessments.
  • Recommend and lead improvements to learning strategies based on business priorities and employee feedback.

Technology & Learning Management System (LMS) Administration

  • Utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) to manage course enrollment, tracking and reporting.
  • Actively monitor the completion status of required trainings and follow up with leaders as needed.
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for job specific training deliverables. Initiate the periodic review by Subject Matter Experts to ensure it is up to date and comprehensive of all job duties.
  • Explore and partner with the implementation of new learning technologies that will enhance training delivery

Continuous Improvement & innovation:

  • Lead initiatives to enhance the overall learning culture within the organization.
  • Stay current with industry trends, adult learning principles, and best practices in learning and development.

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Instructional Design, Education or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in learning and development
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing effective learning programs.
  • Strong background in partnering with SME's and business leaders to develop training content.

SKILLS, CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSURES

Job Skills

  • Expertise in instructional design, adult learning theories, and training facilitation.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze learning data and drive measurable improvements.

Certificates and Licenses

  • Possess a current state driver's license and valid insurance with the ability to travel to business locations as needed.
