The Engineer III position is based in our Saegertown facility. This engineer has the responsibility for process control of reactor intermediates and products. This area of focus is prestigious and key to our global business. Collaboration with the Erie engineers as well as the global technology community is expected and required.

The Engineer III position is part of the EPM sustaining and process engineering group. This group is comprised of close knit, dynamic problem solvers. We are agile and responsive to supply chain and regulatory changes that threaten our business. We are also proactive. We are seeking a creative candidate that enjoys finding solutions to manufacturing challenges, reducing waste, and leading process improvements.

Parker Lord EPM Division's premier Chemlok brand of high performance rubber to metal adhesives is trusted globally. We do not rest on the technology of the past but are actively developing the adhesive technologies of the future.

General Duties:

* Responsible for process control related specifically to EPM reactor products. May provide coverage for dispersion non-reactive products at times however reactor products made using polymerization, oxidation, addition reaction and distillation techniques are the focus areas of responsibility.
* Technical lead on new equipment verification and validation in area of responsibility.
* Collaborate with facilities engineering on capital project designs to maximize process safety and control while improving efficiency.
* Collaborate with product quality on RCCA for nonconformances in the area of product responsibility.
* Collaborate with scale up engineers transferring new chemistries to the plant.
* Communicate technical findings in an effective manner across varying audiences.
* Identify and implement solutions to improve safety, process control, yields and cycle times.
* Provide technical mentorship for Engineer I and II both based in Saegertown and Erie.

Department Specific Duties:

EPM Plant Engineer III
* Responsible for maintaining accurate production procedures for assigned products/intermediates.
* Generate cost estimates for new or improved products/intermediates.
* Maintain ERP data for assigned products/intermediates such as Recipes, BOMs, Emissions masters, etc.
* Contribute solutions that impact Parker Simple by Design, Zero Defects and Automation goals.
* Independently utilize statistics and problem-solving methodology to identify trends, make improvements and technical decisions. Become a subject matter expert in the Delta V PI system used to monitor batch data.
* Lead and/or participate in prestart up safety reviews, incident reviews, and process hazard analysis activities.

Education Requirement

  • BS Degree Chemical Engineering or Related Discipline

Work Experience Required

  • >3 years of directly relevant experience in chemical manufacturing process control
