Training Project Consultant

The UNM College of Nursing (CON) is seeking Training Project Consultants to assist with the Breastfeeding Child health and Mammary Permeability (CHAMPS) study. The purpose of this study is to learn about how milk composition contributes to a new parent's milk supply and how in turn, human milk affects the infant health and growth. Primary responsibilities for this position include conducting and/or assisting with prenatal and postpartum lactation support groups at local clinics as well as conducting home visits to collect research data and biological samples and to provide in-person lactation support as needed working up to 10 per hours per week.

• Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.

Bachelor's degree in a related field or discipline; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS), or International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) or equivalent
• Excellent interpersonal communication and counseling skills
• Fluent in Spanish
• Excellent organization skills
• Experience with research, data collection, or record keeping
