Our analysts share a passion for systems and designthinking, analytics,optimizationand process improvement General Purpose of Job: The Business Systems Analyst designs, optimizesand implements business applications systems and works continually to improve applications and systemsthrough upgrades, expansion, other projects and mentoring of other caregivers.This position will work as part of the Sparrow IT team. The position will work in a fast paced, changing healthcare environment. The business system analyst's primary role is supporting business systems and implementing technology solutions in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project or enhancements to systems, and communicating them clearly with all stakeholders. Essential Duties: This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
- Provides on-going application support, develops process models, participates in business requirements development, creates functional requirements, technical designs, test plans, and executes system testing.
- Configures, implements, tests, and deploys application and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions.
- Develop and implement effective and strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes.
- Builds processes and technology improvements and proposes efficiency initiatives.
- Use data to identify trends, patterns and opportunities for the business.
- Analyze how information systems can be applied to reduce cost, improve efficiency, and provide higher quality data and reporting.
- Participate and be an active contributor in discussions with business users and leaders regarding areas of opportunity to leverage technology.
- Research, analyze and recommend business workflow and application best practices.
- Develop business cases and cost benefit analyses.
- Support and optimize various applications within customer service line
- Recognize, gather, correlate, and analyze facts. Draw appropriate conclusions, define problems, and devise solutions and alternatives and make appropriate recommendations
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of applications within their domain (e.g. HR, Payroll, Supply Chain, Finance, Facilities, etc.)
- Research and resolve operational application issues and participate in on-call rotation.
- Creates supporting application documentation and end user process and training documentation.
- Builds relationships with key internal and external customers
- Works with minimum supervision
Job Requirements
Work Experience |
* 3 years of professional experience with implementing and/or supporting an ERP package (Infor / Lawson, Kronos, etc.) and demonstrable aptitude/willingness to learn data analysis, reporting, application or technical support and problem solving, process improvement, end-user training and customer service, healthcare specific workflows. Preferred: * Understanding and experience in project management * Insurance or healthcare related experience |
Education |
Bachelor's or Master's degree relevant field OR Associates degree and a minimum of 4 years of professional experience. Relevant courses of study including: Engineering (any kind) Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain Computer Science/Technology Healthcare Administration or Public Health Math/Science/Logic/Statistics Analytically Oriented Humanities fields |
Specialized Knowledge and Skills |
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Demonstrated analytic and problem solving skills * Strong working skills with MS Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio * Ability to work independently and in a team environment * Flexibility and adaptability * Strong problem solving, logical reasoning, customer service and training skills. * Professionalism and self-motivation. * Candidates should have a passion for improving systems and processes and desire for real responsibility. * Previous programming or IT related experience * Knowledge of ERP applications such as but not limited to HR, Payroll, Supply Chain, Finance is preferred * Basic experience in writing SQL data queries |
