What You Will Do:

Our Test Engineer will oversee product testing throughout the test life cycle. This includes designing, planning, execution, and preliminary analysis of results. The Test Engineer must possess and/or have the ability to develop a working knowledge of HVAC/R equipment and its application and has experience with component or system testing, test procedure development, mechanical fluid or airflow system design, troubleshooting, and operation. our Test Engineers are required to execute the testing for individual test subjects in order to successfully and efficiently complete testing for the product area customer. In this role you will conceive, develop, and evaluate plans for solving complex testing challenges. The ideal candidate will have technical aptitude in HVAC. This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

How You Will Do It:

  • Provide technical communications for Test Engineering to product customer(s).

  • Plan and execute tests of chillers and components. This may include:

    • Participate in the development of and/or receive and review test specifications from customer group; seek out and acquire needs from other areas/disciplines who may wish to benefit from testing a particular subject.

    • Use input from the customer group(s) to facilitate test plans and identify resource (human, physical) requirements.

    • Meet with product engineering, product management, product technical support, or equivalent groups to agree upon and issue test plans.

    • Work within the Test Engineering team to schedule tests and required resources with regards to capacity limitation.

    • Provide oversight and input to Test Technicians for set up of data acquisition software configurations.

    • Work with labor, test support, and engineering resources to actively manage the test from set up to completion. This includes daily monitoring and planning, communication, direct data acquisition, review of data acquired, provide engineering analysis of data acquired, problem resolution, and other activities necessary in order to efficiently perform and complete testing in a timely fashion.

    • Maintain a proficiency in understanding chiller test data to guide the customer engineering teams as necessary to acceptance or assist in explanation of data results.

  • Drive the evaluation and creation of standard procedures, test standards, and processes using applicable engineering tools. This includes, but is not limited to LEAN, 6-Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, Design of Experiments (DOE), 5S, Gemba, Kaizen (continuous improvement), KPI analysis and development, PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act), and Root Cause Analysis.

  • Use experience to develop new procedures, processes, and resources as necessary to provide more efficient, accurate, and advanced testing services for product customers.

What We Look For:

  • BS required in an engineering or engineering adjacent discipline.

  • Preferred combination of two (2) years direct work experience in the following: HVAC/R equipment development, servicing or testing, good understanding of HVAC/R systems, concepts, and diagnostics.

  • Ability to perform test data acquisition and data analysis, test troubleshooting and diagnostics, technical reporting, and related communication at various levels is required.

  • Experienced in environments ranging from laboratory, manufacturing/testing facilities, and field sites.

  • Able to work in fast-paced, schedule driven work environment and possess the agility/adaptability to quickly move from one task to another when required. Must be self-motivated.

  • Strong communication skills; willing to confront issues in an open, efficient, and tactful manner.

  • Strong group communication and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated use of engineering tools and concepts within a manufacturing or testing facility.

  • Good computer and data analysis/management skills with proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) as well as internet software and e-mail.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity in one or more technical and operational disciplines within HVAC platform development.

  • Background in engineering or development testing.
