ABOUT THE ROLE: The Lead Product Manager role is responsible for leading the development and launch of technology products, from conceptualization through to end of life, using waterfall or agile methodologies. The incumbent is an experienced professional with extensive knowledge and experience in product management and information technology principles, practices, and frameworks. In addition to defining product requirements and continuously refining the product strategy, the incumbent collaborates closely with key stakeholders across the organization, including business teams, technology product owners, technical teams, and marketing teams, to drive the development, implementation, and enhancement of new and existing applications, software, or systems with a focus on optimizing product performance and customer experience. The incumbent takes responsibility for the execution of various technology product development projects, including planning, scheduling, executing, and closing projects, and takes responsibility for ensuring adherence to product timelines, budgets, quality standards, and customer needs. The incumbent is a key contributor to a culture of collaboration and contributes actively to the development and execution of the organization's overall strategy and vision, working closely with senior and executive leadership to achieve the organization's strategic objectives. WHAT THE ROLE WILL DO:
- Drive the development and execution of product strategy and develop strategies for product roadmaps, priorities, pricing, budgeting, positioning, and messaging
- Develop strategies to define product requirements in partnership with the business and provide guidance to cross-functional teams (engineering, design, sales, marketing, etc.) to ensure product vision is well understood and executed
- Establish and share perspective to conduct market research and analysis to identify customer needs, market trends and competitive threats
- Drive strategies to define, track, and report on product metrics to measure success and prepare new strategy as needed
- Develop strategies to shape and prioritize the product backlog and determine business expertise and understanding of customer needs
- Plan and lead the product development process, from concept to launch, and guide the team to ensure products are delivered on time, on budget, and meet quality standards
- Develop strategies to manage knowledge documentation in support of the product, and provide guidance as needed
- Lead and communicate product updates and progress to stakeholders and executive leadership, including technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Establish and share strategies to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and provide guidance to the team as needed
- Plan and lead product performance and customer feedback and guide to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous product innovation
This position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, including conversion to H1-B visa. This position has a hybrid work schedule with three days in the office and the option for working remotely two days. Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. - Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Administration, or in lieu of a degree or at least 9 years of experience in the field of technology product management
- Preferred: PMI Certification
Required Knowledge & Experience
- 6-8 years of experience in technology product management with experience in launching and managing successful products
- Extensive knowledge of product development and launch processes, including agile methodologies
- Extensive knowledge of production innovation methodologies and leading practices
- Ability to conduct advanced market research and analyze customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape
- Proven experience with hardware or software product development
- Extensive knowledge of user experience (UX) design principles and customer-centric design thinking
- Expertise in business processes, including IT, vendor management, and software development lifecycle
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical solutions into business language
